plantar fasciitis

Posted: Mar 30, 2010

Just recently I have been experiencing symptoms that would fit this diagnosis.  My father also has the same problem.  I have watched stretching videos online and have begun to incorporate those as well as ice and rolling my foot around on a tennis ball while I work. Luckily it is my left foot.  I also take ibuprofen every day.

Any other suggestions that may have worked for you?  I really do not want to visit a DPM or PT unless absolutely necessary.  I saw the Strassburg Sock online and may try that too.  Any reviews or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.  tia

I had the same problem years ago and mine was due to bone spur. It got so bad I could not walk at all on it. I finally caved in and went to the podiatrist and I had to have it removed via day surgery. I took medicine and steroid injection before to no avail. I would suggest seeing a podiatrist because those tendons might just be attached to a bone spur that is what is keeping it irritated. I tried every home remedy and nothing worked for me. After I had the minor surgery, it cleared up. Good luck whatever you decide.

I have bought a few verbena, a few coleus, would like to switch off from the "usual" and do something that "pops" - still too cold but dying to get outside and plant! Garden shop suggests waiting until Memorial Day - tooooo long! Ideas? ...
