if you do do you have any information on this you will share with me. For the past year or 2 I have had this terrible constant ringing. It is most aggravating because it never goes away and it makes it hard to go to sleep. I have been a transcriptionist for 40 years and thinking it must the abuse my ears have gone through over this time. If there is OTC medication, herbs, anything that might help. TIA:);

My mom has this. - sm

She has had it for about 20 years and sadly, it has progressively worsened. We took her to a doctor years ago. He was a neuro-otologist. At that time, the best treatment was getting a hearing aid and having the "buzz" of that mask the tinnitus. Over time, the tinnitus would apparently be less noticeable. My mom did not follow that advice, but just recently got a hearing aid (for hearing loss) that has no "buzz." She says being in crowds is the worst next to trying to sleep. I'm sorry I can't be of help, but I've seen TV ads for natural things. Try googling homeopathic remedies for tinnitus or something. Wishing you the very best!

My neighbor keeps a fan running at night to help her sleep. I also read that white noise machines may help at night.

I have ringing in my ears, more so in my left ear. I don't know if it's caused by using our hearing so much with this job, straining to hear the audio or likewise being blasted by shrill beeps and all sorts of high-pitched sounds day in and day out. I also had a very bad earache/infection as a child and I wonder if that didn't set me up for this now later in life. Anyway, it has gotten worse over the years. It also seems to correlate with my blood pressure. If I'm stressed out, I notice the noise is louder and my BP is a bit higher as well. So I think the key is trying to relax, getting good sleep, keeping your BP as normal as possible, watch the sodium, watch the caffeine, stay hydrated, exercise a bit, and try to protect your hearing as much as possible from loud noises. I have a hard time using the vacuum and even my hair dryer now, so I use ear plugs and that can help sometimes. Pressure points on the body might help as well. There are a few pressure points in the hands and fingers, and I think around the ears as well. Probably have to research that a bit more to find out if that really works, but I have heard of it. I wish you the best with this, I know it can be very frustrating...

I feel like I have a bubble in my ear; hot shower did not help and the doctors\' voices sound muffled in my left ear (the voices in my head are loud and clear though - lol, just kidding).  I am hoping this is only a temporary thing. Had no such problem yesterday. ...
