Olecranon bursitis

A few weeks ago I noticed my left elbow was painful when resting on a chair arm or desk.  I didn't think too much of it, since I remember hitting the elbow on a door around that time.  However, I now have very significant swelling of the bursa.  I researched the condition, and some say the condition will resolve on its own, while others say the treatment of choice is aspiration.   I doubt this is septic bursitis, as the area is not red or hot.  Not looking forward to aspiration, but if anyone has had this condition and/or aspiration of the bursa I would appreciate comments.   Thanks!;
