Hypo to hyperthyroid & thyroid nodule

Posted: Feb 24, 2016

I had been hypothyroid for 30 years on Synthroid.  Suddenly I started losing weight and have lost 70 lbs over the last year. I didn't have insurance so could not check this out until recently.  T3 and T4 were very high. Ultrasound showed a small nodule on the thyroid and thyroiditis.  I just had the first part of the 24-hour thyroid uptake scan today.  I won't have the results until I see the endocrinologist next week.  Has anyone else had their thyroid change suddenly from hypo to hyper or a thyroid nodule?

That was Monday, so today was my day off. Started the day off with early doctor appointment, had already found out that I could possibly be worked in the same day, same building, with mammographic o ...

I'm Thinking Thyroid?Oct 08, 2015
Okay, for the last month or so I've come to realize my hair is exceedingly dry.  I normally have to wash my hair every other day because it is oily, and even though this is great that I don't have to wash it so often, it is a real change from what I am used to do.  So far I've let it go 4 days, but by the looks of my hair, I could go longer.  It doesn't seem oily at all.  Also, at night I'm a furnace (this has been going on for a while though).  ...

I Need To Make An Appointment To Get Thyroid CheckedFeb 20, 2013
I already posted this in response to someone else's post.  I don't have insurance, but the dentist at the dental school I went to affirmed I have thyroid nodules (really, I have more than one?)  I'm afraid to get this checked out, I don't have insurance, how am I going to afford Synthroid? It's 49 dollars for the office visit + cost of tests.  What if they want to do a biopsy?  I need tires, blah, blah, blah, dental work, blah, blah, blah....   ...
