Allergies/Nasal Congestion

My allergies have been horrible this fall and winter. I have lots of nasal congestion where I feel like I can't even breath. I have been taking Zyrtec-D which does help to some extent, but I am wondering if anyone has any other suggestions? I have tried Claritin in the past and regular Zyrtec. Benadryl makes me sleepy. Thanks so much for any suggestions!

My step-father is an allergy sufferer also. He tried a neti recently and was thrilled with the results. He was so enthusiastic about the results, he bought one for my husband because he has terrible allergies also. They say they are very easy to use. I type for an ENT also and he is constantly recommending "nasal sinus rinses" to patients, though he doesn't call it a neti pot. They are pretty cheap and all natural. I would give it a try.

I'll second the neti pot. It has saved me from a miserable sinus infection this year and helped my allergies.

My dogs definitely cannot have poultry or corn, and wheat is questionable. I am trying to find dental chews/biscuits. I'm using Zuke's Z-bones right now but the problem is that one of my dogs is just biting/breaking it into chunks and swallowing the chunks, not much good for his teeth and gums! He chews his crunchy dog food and regular treats so I was hoping maybe I could find some dental biscuits of some sort, but everything I'm finding has wheat or chicken ...

My 24-year-old daughter started breaking out in a rash yesterday. At first she thought maybe it was a heat rash, but then overnight she started to feel a little feverish. This morning she woke up and the rash was tripled in amount of bumps and all over her body. Plus she has been dizzy and very nauseated. Does anyone have a cat with food allergies? My white/tabby mix seems to always be itching but does not have fleas. His white ears are frequently pink and warm and he scratches quite a bit. I have a lady who comes to clean every other week. I have 4 cats and they are all long haired and yes they do shed. This person has now worked here probably at least 3 months or longer. This past week she said was sick, visited her doctor with chest tightness. I asked if she had ever had asthma. I did as a child and had 2 bad recurrences as an adult and this sounds somewhat like that. Her doctor went down a list of things and one thing asked, are you around animals.
