Relaxing Music

Posted: May 3, 2016

(Top favorite is instructional videos on various topics.)

So, I'm someone who loves ambient music whatever I'm doing and like anyone else I have different moods, situations, etc.  Work, study, treadmill, meditation, sleep, doing housework - different music for each.  I used to buy CDs but now I find everything I could want on YouTube.  Sometimes I just stream it directly from YT to speakers, sometimes I convert it to MP3 for playing in the car, etc.

You can find videos that run for hours, or playlists in lieu of individual long videos.

This is sleep music, for instance.

I really like this - and

would like to know how to stream directly to speakers for listening. I don't know a lot of the technology aspects of things like this, but it would help in meditating and even trying to sleep. At current, I play SMX music from my DISH tv Spa Music and play that until I fall asleep, but some of it I don't like, and it ties up my TV all night then. Thanks for your help and suggestions.

I do this as well, play it on the other laptop beside my desk - while I work, play sleep music SM

Goodness knows we need all the help we can get to stay calm and relaxed and focused while we're doing this work.

And I have a playlist for the cats as well of their on calming classical music. They like the waterfall, woods and nature sounds, as well as bird videos.

I often go to sleep with thunderstorm or rain or waterfall videos, or any white noise.

You truly can find anything you want on YT.

I really like the - guided

meditation on youtube. Usually starts with someone guiding you through the relaxation and then an hour or two of music after.

Something RelaxingJul 26, 2014
Realizing that MT is an increasingly frustrating field, I'm always looking for ways to help me relax.  Counted cross stitching is one of those ways.  For those of you who like to do this, I found the mother lode of free patterns, some of which are quite detailed. http://www.cross-stitch-pattern.net/Free-Designs.aspx ...

The Day The Music DiedJul 09, 2017
A stunning – and stunningly disturbing - event took place this past weekend. But unless you were scouring the news very carefully, chances are you didn't even hear of it. The annual Bravalla Festival, one of the most popular summer music concerts in Sweden, was abruptly canceled. There will be no festival next year. Or ever. Given that tens of thousands of tickets were sold, the problem was not attendance. Nor was there any difficulty booking big-name rap and rock stars. No, ...

Need Some Hints About Teenage Music WantsNov 29, 2009
I have gotten together some items for families that may be lacking this year. Already got one family with 4 children their Christmas and have most for a family of 6 (egads) children what might brighten their Christmas morning. Another lady said her sons, 14, 15 and 19 (yes, I know they are older) might like clothing, cologne or something in the music department. I am trying to go as cheap as I can with used toys for the smaller ones but can anyone point me in the right direction of buying ...

Least Favorite Christmas Music?Dec 02, 2011
I have to admit I can't stand the "Christmas Shoes" song.  I have a high tolerance for schmalz, but that's over the top for me.  I change the radio station when that comes on.    I'm sorta on the fence about "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas".  It's kind of cute, but it has the disadvantage of sticking in my head and I end up singing it the rest of the day! Anyone else? ...

Favorite Christmas MusicDec 01, 2011
I'm finally getting into the Christmas mood.  I have Harry Connick, Jr's "When My Heart Finds Christmas" playing and I LOVE it.  My favorites are It Must've Been Ol' Santa Claus and Ave Maria.  He has such a beautiful voice and is such a great performer. ...

Music From Today's Younger Generation. May 22, 2012
I am from the generation of Free Love, Hippies, Vietnam and college demonstrations against war.  As a teenager I watched JFK being assasinated and watched as LBJ took office then.  I suppose that our music reflected the changes in our society and politics too.  We had so many wonderful classic age rock groups and singers -- Rolling Stones, Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Eric Clapton, the Doors, Crazy Joe Macdonald, Fleetwood Mac, Cat Stevens, Carol King and on and on.&n ...

Joy Villa's Music Sales Skyrocket Donning Pro-Trump Dress To GrammysFeb 13, 2017
Joy Villa's music sales skyrocketed after the singer wore a pro-Trump dress at Sunday night's 59th annual Grammy Awards. When she arrived at the Grammys, Villa flung off a white frock to reveal a gown of patriotic red, white and blue that urged "Make America Great Again" and had "Trump" in sparkly letters on the back hem. The 25-year-old's EP "I Make the Static" jumped to the top of Amazon's top digital paid albums and reached number seven on the iTunes top album chart aft ...
