RIP Davy Jones

So sad. He was only 66.
C'mon, admit it. Didn't we all love him way back when? I know I did.

David Cassidy. My dad took me to see him in person at Idora Park and my dad put me on top of his shoulders so I could see with my heart pounding so fast!!

My first "crush" and I had it bad for the boy...My entire bedroom was covered in posters and I think I wore out many copies of the Partridge Family vinyls. Was really disappointed in him on Celebrity Apprentice though, not his looks but in that he just seemed so insecure and lackluster. Way to destroy my childhood fantasies, "Keith," LOL!
Wow. we sound like we are related! - 70's child

I had it bad too. At such a young age I think it was that long hair that drove me crazy! Could not wait for Friday nights. My corner of the room was plastered also but I had to share with my sisters and one of my sisters used to tease me and asked me if I didn't get scared seeing his face when I woke up!
I had every single Tiger Beat magazine with him on the cover. I also wore out the albums and again was asked to stop playing them as I was wearing out the ears of my one sister.
I remember begging my dad to take me to the record store one night until he finally did so I could buy the latest album! I must have drove them all crazy. My brother used to tease me and tell me he was my boyfriend.
He must have been lost without his guitar on Celebrity Apprentice. LOL.
I guess I am about the only one who thought he was - sm

I loved these posts. Not in a specific order, but Shaun Cassidy, Rick Springfield, Jon Bon Jovie (50 or not, he's still smokin' hot), and Tommy Lee. Now, I'm old and married and totally heart Harry Connick, Jr.

I didn't know he had died. He had the perfect accentent, hair, etc. The only one close was Shaun Cassidy.

I was so sad when I heard it in the morning while I was working yesterday. The Monkees FB page has some wonderful tributes by the other Monkees, especially Mike Nesmith. I saw them in the 80s during a reunion tour. It was so much fun. He actually was at our local Casino on February 14. I wish I had gone.
I always thought he was a pip squeak - maybe a certain generation
I'm sure it WAS a certain generation! - Trampled underfoot

Apparently it was my generation! I was born in 1957. On the other hand, I thought David Cassidy was cute but too wifty for me, since by then I was a bit older.
what about Rob Lowe! - head over heels

I fell in love with him in the 1980s when he was in his 20s but sort of fell out of love when the sex tape came out (LOL) but now its like I have rediscovered him all over again! Anybody see him on Kelly live?
Love Rob! If you want a treat, - Bindi

read his autobiography. Came out in 2011 or so. Anyway, it's one of the best I've read in years. He writes extensively about his childhood and his dreams of becoming an actor. Very amusing and very genuine. He writes about his love for his wife (married 20+ years) and his sons. I came away with a whole new appreciation for him. Oh, and it doesn't hurt that he is gorgeous. Was it Vanity Fair that had the cover of him in his surfer togs? Whoa!! (By the way, I'm old enough to be his mother.)
Did you hear ... - head over heels

he has it on audio now? I would still need to get the book to look at his beautiful eyes! I could shoot myself for not buying the Vanity Fair magazine.
Did you see the Valentine's show on Parks and Rec? He had me laughing so much playing the gothic music because he was so sad. He is the only reason I watch the show now.
I give him a lot of credit for straightening himself out and staying cool. Sure wish it was me that was married to him. LOL
So what about the age. Age is only a number! My sister works with women who love Johnny Depp and are a lot older. My sister has it for Johnny Depp!
I love him on Parks and Rec too... (sm) - Bindi

Rob Lowe can play a good villain too; played a very creepy Drew Peterson. I have to confess though that my real love is Robert Downey, Jr., another guy who has turned himself around. Yay, Robert!
I have to laugh because when this generation of guys was starting out, circa 1980-1985, (Rob Lowe, Robert Downey, Tom Cruise, Matt Dillon, et. al.) and were late teens, early 20s, I remember thinking to myself. "They're cute, but they're still wet behind the ears. Wait another 20 years or so." Well, I have to say they turned out very nicely :)
I love the 80s. - head over heels

I also love the 80s music. I guess being from that generation it would have some kind of impact on me. I don't think Kevin Spader aged so well though. He looks like he is trying to lose weight though the last time I saw him on the office. I can't believe he is the same guy that was in Pretty in Pink. I thought he was really cute when he was around 30.
I find James Spader strangely attractive. - I am not sure why, though.

He does not really have any features that I would typically find attractive. I might just, for some reason, find his characters attractive. I am not sure.
