FOR FUN Crack is whack

Posted: Jun 8, 2010

I HATE SUMMER!  Know why? Because I love an ice cold soda on a hot summer day!  I don't eat or drink artificial sweeteners, so don't tell me to try diet!  I do not normally keep soda in my fridge, but this past weekend we had a barbecue and a lot of people brought lots and lots of sugary, carbonated yummy cola and sodas!   woe is me...  I would normally send it all straight away to hubby's office, only he left sunday night on a business trip.  Bet anything that the 6 cases of soda that are here will be gone before he gets back!  (eek!  here goes all my "swim suit" work down the drain!)

I am so weak...   I should go and poke holes in them all and just dump them in the garbage...

What is your "crack".

Any salted, cured meat. Bacon, pepperoni, salami, jerky. You put any salted, cured meat in front of me, BACK OFF! I will gobble it up and go rummaging for more! I will devour a whole bag of pepperoni slices by myself instead of popcorn, while watching a movie.

That's my crack.

Chocolate Marshmallow Ice Cream and Cheese (not in combination). - Backwards Typist

Gotta have my cheese every day.

I love Chocolate Marshmallow ice cream but only have it if I can't sleep. For some reason, it puts me to sleep within a half hour and I sleep like a baby all night. I tested other flavors and that was the only one. Don't know why.

I can't resist McDonald's vanilla ice cream cones and orange Sunkist soda...only Sunkist for whatever reason that came to be. I have to have my husband hide my sodas in the garage and only get out 1 or 2 each time we are going to our boat or for whatever outing we are headed to.

1. Ice cream - in particular a flavor called Girl Scout Samoa cookie ice cream (can you believe they make those delicious cookies into ice cream). I ate a whole half gallon in 2 sittings. Ugghs.

2. Chocolate ice cream with sliced bananas, hot fudge and whipped cream.

3. Chocolate cake or brownie with hot fudge and scoop of ice cream, and whipped cream.

Ice cream and chocolate cakes is the best.

I also just polished off a half of a chocolate cake in 3 nights by myself. Now is that crack or what? LOL

Man do I need to stop baking.

My "crack" is CocaCola and M&Ms. nm - Rocky Raccoon

causes them to reach that melty/falling-apart point just when you get down to the last bite or two that's so satisfying. :-) Especially when they're on sale at the local Super Valu for half the usual price.

Nacho cheese doritos with cottage cheese... sounds weird but is sooo good.

Also, here in this region of the country, they have fresh corn roasted in the husk. When its done they slather it in butter, sprinkle it generously with red chile powder, a generous squeeze of fresh lime juice and top it off with a heaping portion of delicous, dry white Mexican cheese. OH MY GOSHHH. It is delicious. Thank goodness the vendors only come around on the weekends! Just the smell makes me drool. I'm hooked.

Cereal! - Can you believe it?

Almond Roca. I open the can while I'm in the store and start eating it there! It never makes it home. Then I wash it down with a super big gulp cola. Total crack head for the almond roca.

Chips, fresh, homemade strawberry salsa and Samuel Adams summer beer. Yeah, all the work for the summer bod goes to waste when I get to work on a bowl of chips and salsa and a 6 pack of ice, cold, frost on the bottle, hurts your hand to hold 'cause it's too cold beer. Yum!

We have a "twisty treat" by us. I don't do it often but when I get really really stressed I go and get the hot fudge banana split. I took my son there the other afternoon after school and the line was down the block and the car line twice. We did not care. We got ours, and afterward, well, I ate the whole thing and got sick. It was all I had eaten in days. But... it was WORTH IT... every last bit!

My husband makes a bunch of different varietes and I swear if I could get away with it, I'd LIVE off of the stuff, lol!

One of these days our poor Cuisinart will wear out and need to be replaced but in the meantime, I don't know what it is about it, but I could live on this stuff 3 times a day, lol!

homemade, fresh, cool guacamole. Spicy please! Also, where I live there are "Mexican" style shrimp cocktails with spicy sauce, onions, avocado chunks and jalapeno. Hubby learned how to make these things and we have it a couple of times a month. Delicioso!

So, while Granholm was ranting and waving her arms around like a crackbaby, when she got to the "brilliant" auto bailout, supporters were screaming approval and waving FORD signs.  Not Chevy or Chrysler - FORD. Umm...Ford did not take auto bailout money. Time after time this week, the DNC delegates illustrated that they don't have a clue what's going on, but can they get any DIMMER than this?  Hoo-boy!   ...

Earlier, I gave you the DNC delegates proudly waving FORD banners while the auto bailout was being touted from the podium.  Of course, Ford didn't take bailout money. Now this.  DNC welcome banners at the Charlotte airport - misspelled.  And what word did they get wrong? Nothing much - just the NAME OF THEIR PARTY. "DEMOCATIC"!! See link below. ...

What is the senate for?  What does congress do?  Some of the opinions stated here clearly show nothing but personality conflicts - Bush or O, doesn't matter.  Bottom line - O walked into a disaster when he took office.  The lies about the state of the economy -  Bush did not do that by himself either (congress).  What we heard up until his last 6 months in office was, "The economy is strong." Perhaps so far in this administration some things should have been ...

GOP Opposition To Rice On Libya Attack Begins To Crack; McCain CouldNov 26, 2012
From the Washington Post: "Republican opposition to U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice as the next secretary of state began to crack Sunday as Sen. John McCain said she was “not the problem” in the White House’s handling of the Sept. 11 attack in Libya and suggested he could be persuaded to swing behind her possible nomination." “I think she deserves the ability and the opportunity to explain herself and her position,” McCain, R-Ariz., told “Fox News Sunday.” ...

"GOP Resolve On Sequester Begins To Crack"Feb 07, 2013
Commentary from the Washington Post: "There’s been a good deal of chatter to the effect that Republicans still retain leverage in the sequester fight, because some of them are willing to let the sequester happen. But Politico reports that GOP resolve is cracking, with GOPers privately conceding that they’d prefer to reach a deal, because the politics of allowing deep spending cuts, a gutting of defense, and a major hit to the economy are too dangerous. Of course, GOP aides ...
