Does anyone watch Dancing with the Stars?  Just curious if anyone shares my opinion.  I am not going to watch the show anymore after this season.  I can't believe Bristol Palin has made it this far.  What a joke.  Personally, I have nothing against Bristol except that she cannot dance and some much better dancers have been eliminated before her.  If they are going to keep running the show, they might as well get rid of the judges.  Actually, I know they are just as surprised as I am that she has made it this far.  Again, nothing against Bristol.  The show really has nothing to do with dancing talent, just popularity.

Just curious if anyone else shares my opinion.

I watch it off an on and I agree about Bristol - as does anyone

I speak to about it.

My even bigger gripe about her, though, is why she is on there in the first place.

The show is called "Dancing with the Stars." I was not aware that Bristol was a "star". I mean, her mom is in the political spotlight, but all Bristol did was get pregnant as a teenager...I wasn't aware that made you a star.

But I agree, the girl cannot dance and should have gotten the boot long ago.

I totally agree with her not being a star and should not be on there. There have also been others in the past that I can't see where they are called stars. I guess it is hard to find real stars that are willing to or have the time to do the show and have to grasp at people that maybe aren't stars but we are somewhat familiar with them. Anyway, I don't think I will watch that show anymore.

I get a little more disgusted with it every season - sm

This is not meant as a dig at Jennifer Grey or last year's winner, but frankly I'm a little tired of the ringers brought in. Sorry, but if you dance as a Pussy Cat Doll you've got an immediate advantage, and Jennifer Grey, well her credentials let you know that this is not a dancing newb. I confess...I like watching the people whose only dance experience is out in the clubs coming out and becoming dancers. Watching someone who has been dancing their entire lives or their entire careers just change to a different style of dance takes a lot of the joy out of it for me and also any suspense during the season (for instance, will this year's winner be the one who has dancing genes and learned at a young age at daddy's knee or the one who has been performing and dancing in concert?).

I agree with the Bristol Palin thing; apparently the RNC have the voting lines on speed dial. And I was pulling for her at first, but this has gotten a little ridiculous, and it's time for her to go home (well, it was probably back on week #2).

does not make than an automatic win. Brandy is also a singer and dances during her concerts, does that not make her another "ringer?" Don't think so. This type of dancing is totally different than that you are mentioning. As for Jennifer, she danced in a movie 20+ years ago, being an actress does not make you a "ringer." I give Bristol credit, she has absolutely no experience and I think she is doing great for her background. Even the judges are impressed with her technique, she just does not have the show-biz mentality to put on a show like the rest. Kyle has no dance experience and he is doing fantastic from where he started, but he also is an actor. I do not believe there are any ringers in here this season, it is all a "public" vote. If you don't like the show, just don't watch it. That would be my suggestion.

Brandy is a ringer - sm

And I'm not sure if you are just unaware or just like to be argumentative. Jennifer Gray grew up dancing before she walked.

And if you don't think being a dancer of any kind helps, you either aren't watching the show or run to the kitchen during the interviews, because counting out the steps, performance, and musicality are not skills that other people, like Kurt Warner, were born with.

So, yes, Brandy has an auto advantage, as does Jennifer Gray.

Viewers want to see people who can dance from the very first show.  They don't want to spend weeks watching people learn to dance so that by the semifinals it is just a contest of who sucks less than they did at the start.

I am glad for the ringers.  It makes the two-left-feet people more tolerable.

Maybe people are voting for that hotboy Mark Ballas rather than Bristol.  I know people who vote for the pro rather than the star.

Yep--my mom votes for Max this year since he has - never won it. NM

And I would never vote for Karina Smirnoff's partner - No matter how good he may be

She is such a bratty pouty sourpuss, grates my nerves.

She could be partnered with Fred Astaire and I would root against them.

Think Brandy is kissing it better for him tonight?

That's the vibe I've been getting from them lately.

It IS popularity contest! Thats what the numbers are for! I think its terrible what you posted. You all sound jealous of that young lady. She made her mistake, sure, whatever... hundreds of thousands of teens get pregnant. Her mom is the more public figure, yeah, so what!?

She is no more a "star" than Paris Hilton or the Kardashians, but she shouldn't be blasted for it. Her being thrown into the public eye is not a "fault".

I think she's handling her time in the spotlight gracefully and as far as ability, she's doing great! She isn't a dancer, she has said that. We get it, but she's trying and I'd venture to say she's doing much better than some of us could! She is making her way in life as best she can, it's admirable.

You public figure bashers are a sad lot, especially when you say "Personally, I have nothing against her..." yet feel compelled to MAKE A PUBLIC POSTING BASHING HER!

Look inward before you speak out.

Nobody bashed her- just her dancing. - sm

This is a dancing show. Her dancing sucks and has not really improved. The show is called 'DWTS'. While some of the stars are definitely B-list or has-been, she is a never was, and her spot on the show seems to have been acquired by her mother's fame and her own status as an unwed mother.

No bash, just fact.

Excuse me. I did not bash her. - I stated a fact.

The name of the show is Dancing with the STARS.

Bristol Palin is not a STAR.

She also cannot dance! Her dancing has not improved much since the beginning and anyone else would have already been voted off (and in past seasons have been voted off) for lack of improvement/crappy dancing. That is not a slam on Bristol, it is the way the competition works.

Lordy. Calm down. Nobody bashed her.

And no, I'm not jealous of her in the least. Being a teenage mom isn't something to be jealous of, in my opinion. I'm sure you will take that statement as my bashing her as well, but it is simply a fact. She is a teenage mother, and that is not something I personally would be jealous of.

Wow! I am the original poster and I can post whatever I want on the gab board. Personally, I don't have anything against her and I did not feel compelled to BASH her and didn't BASH her. I just asked opinions on the show for the people who watch it. I really don't care why she is on there or about her personal life. I just think she doesn't meet the dancing skills to have gotten where she did.

You really need to get over it!

All the tea-partiers voting for her, no doubt. - I want Brandy or Jennifer to win it. nm

This show is really funny. Brandy gone, Bristol still there. In past seasons, people have been eliminated that shouldn't have, but they have really outdone it this year. Oh well, I guess I will have to find something else to watch next year, it won't be Dancing with the Stars. It's a shame because I always enjoyed watching talented dancers win. Some maybe not my favorite, but at least they had talent. This year will definitely be different. So long Dancing with the Stars!

Okay, anyone else shocked (and maybe dismayed) that Brandy went home last night?  I'm not a Brandy fan (she's a little bit too high strung for me), but she, along with Jennifer, surely deserved to be in the final 2.  Bristol Palin HAS improved in the last 2 weeks, but she should have gone home 3-4 weeks ago, if not earlier.  Just sayin'... ...

what going on with this Bristol-thing.  The most telling are the right-wing and Teaparty websites.   What seems to be coming to light is that this wasn't just a "call your Teaparty friends and vote for Bristol" deal, it's now starting to look like manipulation and voter fraud for political gain.   One person said he tested ABC's online voting system, and discovered that, although you're limited to 5 votes per email address, you aren't limited to the ...
