Anybody use Butter nail polish?

Posted: Nov 23, 2013

Any opinions on Butter nail polish?  Not about the price, but the performance.

I see good reviews on Amazon, but also a few bad ones.  One that has me concerned is a claim that it weirdly peels off like aluminum foil in a day.  That happened when I topped one brand with another, but never one brand alone.

There is also a comment that it smells like vinegar 48 hours later.

I am interested in the "top and tails" set, specifically.

Thanks.

If you're looking for a good quality nail polish, I've had really great luck with Physician's Formula. It's pretty long-wearing, even with all of the typing we do, and has a great assortment of colors. I got one of their little 3-packs in the lilac/gray/neutral shades and only have to reapply every 10 days or so.

If you do try the Butter London polish, let me know how it works. I've been so tempted to order it in the past but haven't gotten around to it. I hadn't heard the issues about peeling or the vinegar smell (ew).

Oh, BTW, a friend of mine subscribed to Julep Maven for her daughter, and her daughter raves that the polishes are great colors and long-wearing. I think it's $19.99 a month for 2-3 polishes and another beauty item (hand lotion, eye shadow palette, eye liner and other random items). I think they carry everything for nails, so if you your manicure/pedicure needs would make it worthwhile, you might want to check out their site. You can usually get the first shipment for free (just pay a couple of dollars shipping and handling), then cancel the membership if you want.

HTH! (I just love talking about all things beauty and fashion, so my apologies for the lengthy post, LOL!)

Walmart sells this gel nail polish kit with the UV LED light for a fraction of the cost elsewhere. They say this polish will stay on for 2 weeks or more. Found out about it while buying insulation at Lowes. The girl at the checkout had fabulous nails. I've never worn nail polish in my life because it never stays on but am tempted to get this gel kit myself, (after I finish my insulation project) of course :)

Polish DivorceJun 14, 2010
A Polish man moved to the USA and married an American girl. Although his English was far from perfect, they got along very well until one day he rushed into a lawyer's office and asked him if he could arrange a divorce for him. The lawyer said that getting a divorce would depend on the circumstances, and asked him the following questions: L: Have you any grounds? P: Yes, an acre and half and nice little home. L: No, I mean what is the foundation of this case? P: It made of co ...

How Do I Get My Peanut Butter Cookies To Stay FluffyFeb 01, 2015
I use a bag mix, which turns out fine.  Sometimes they stay fluffed up, other times not.  I've tried refrigerating the dough and using it cold.  Tried making big cookies.  Tried adding a tablespoon or two of flour to stiffen up the dough - we're high altitude in the west, almost 4700 ft. Why do these cookies insist on flattening out some times but not other times?    Any suggestions?  My husband likes the nice poofy ones,  like you put the ...

Nail ThickeningJul 02, 2014
Although the possibility of toenail fungus kind of grosses me out, I'm having to consider this possibility.  I would like some input on whether or not this is possible.  My fingernails and toenails have thickened over the past several years, not yellowed.  I can actually grow really strong fingernails now, which I couldn't ever do before.  The problem comes in trimming my toenails and the thickening.  I'm not really sure it's a fungal issue.  I&# ...

Obama's Executive Power Pen Is Already Worn Out Much has rightly been made of President Obama’s promise to bypass Congress and act unilaterally to get things done.  “I’ve got a pen and I’ve got a phone,” he said, threatening to sign more executive orders and blast more messages from his bully pulpit. Since then, defenders have argued that Obama has signed relatively few executive orders compared with other modern presidents.  But all exec ...

The Trump Nail In The Media Coffin.Dec 22, 2016
probably will not often communicate with the nation via traditional press conferences. Nor will Trump likely field many questions from New York/Washington journalists. What we know as "the media" never imagined a Trump victory. It has become unhinged at the reality of a Trump presidency. No wonder the fading establishment media is now distrusted by a majority of the public, according to Gallup -- and becoming irrelevant even among progressives. Once upon a time in the 1960s, all the ic ...
