Can we please refrain from using disparaging terms for

on the Faith board?

Obviously, there are many different faiths represented here, but please have respect for others.  "Bible thumper" is a disparaging term used for evangelical Christians.  It's highly inappropriate, especially for this particular part of the MT Stars message board.

Thanks.

Apologies - I did use the term----

...in response to someone else using it first, but that doesn't make it right on my part.

I would request that if you are someone who comes knocking on doors, please do not do that. We have our personal lives and need our privacies which may not coincide with what your idea of private time is. Okay? Hang a brochure on my mailbox.

Apology accepted - OP

I wasn't sure if the "you" was referring to me or just anyone in general. I just happened to notice the term while reading the other thread (wasn't one of the posters) and thought it was disrespectful. It could have been any ethnic/religious/sexist/racial slur, all of which would be really unfortunate to see, especially on this board.

Thanks again for your apology. Really kind of you, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who appreciates it.

Kind of - see msg

I was sort of referring to you, in case you are one of those who knocks on doors to sell your belief, but the note is for everyone. I am not assuming you are one that does that, though. There is also a discussion about this in general on the Gab Board, unrelated to religious "selling."

Interesting Obamacare-inspired TermsAug 08, 2013
There's a couple new terms "29ers" and "49ers": 29ers are folks who once have full-time jobs that are now being cut back to 29 hours a week so the employers can keep their doors open rather than bear the crushing costs of ObamaCare. 49ers are those in companies that used to have a little over 50 employees but have cut back to 49 for the same reason -- to get in under those ObamaCare thresholds. ...

Obama's Paris Agreement In Simple TermsJun 02, 2017
Today the Obama Administration will sign the Paris climate agreement at a ceremony in New York, a move that is projected to severely impact the U.S. economy with ironically negligible impacts for the environment. The agreement will not only set the stage for increased regulation, but will crush U.S. economic output, reduce household income for millions, and likely lead to hundreds of thousands of lost jobs.     The agreement is a product of the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Con ...

BP buys Google, Yahoo oil spill search terms By Hibah Yousuf, staff reporterJune 7, 2010: 6:37 PM ET NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- As BP continues to try to stop the oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico, the energy giant is also dealing with a public relations nightmare. That's why the company is snapping up search phrases like "oil spill" and "oil spill claims" on Google (GOOG, Fortune 500) and Yahoo (YHOO, Fortune 500).
