A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
I thought of this when I was reading a post from someone thinking of going out on her own and getting her own accounts.
About 20 years ago, I had the great pleasure of attending a seminar where a great man, Mr. Jim Rohn, who recently passed away, was speaking. He was speaking to a group of business people who were starting their own business in the health and wellness industry.
Anyway, one piece of advice that he gave was this:
"In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man (or woman) is king (or queen)."
Whenever you start something new, you don't have to be perfect in order to succeed. If you are hoping to provide a service to someone, that person may be totally 'blind' or unable to provide the service to themselves by other means, while you have answers and skills that can help them. You do not have to be perfect in order to provide your service to them.
BTW, Mr. Rohn also said, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
Mr. Rohn did not author these statements, but he eloquently delivered them, and I remember him for this advice. May he rest in peace. The world is a better place for him having been here, IMHO.
