Reply regarding groceries - It is terrible Posted: May 12th, 2022 - 10:31 am In Reply to: Paying for groceries with credit cards sm. - Just an observation
I can relate. A couple of weeks ago. A big box of Cheerios was $7.00 and 9 grain bread was $5.29 a loaf. Those prices came down, thankfully. We have a bread outlet store and some stores called Grocery Outlet that are much better than the big name stores. Gas came down briefly and is higher than ever now. In regard to steak and lobster, I never ate lobster but still enjoy steak. I haven’t bought any for a while, but what I do is buy the big packs of any cuts suitable to cook on the grill and divide them up into smaller packages to freeze. I buy big bags of frozen shrimp to use in stir fry, they probably sell lobster that way too. I know it’s still expensive, but it lasts a long time. Homemade soup and spaghetti are good one dish meals with a salad People do what they have to do, but using credit cards to purchase groceries usually backfires because if you can’t pay it back right away you are also dealing with interest payments. I have also heard stories of people taking out loans to pay the rent.
