As we all painfully know, the cost of groceries is sickening. At our local grocery store (Publix) the other day, the woman in front of me (with 5 kids, mind you) had a $600.00 grocery tab and paid it with her credit card, not a debit card. My heart went out to her - having to pay for basic groceries with a credit card, not to mention the wonderful gas prices... Apparently, paying with credit for groceries is a common practice nowadays according to what different cashiers I know at the store are telling me. Infuriating and sad at the same time. There is definitely something very, very wrong with this picture.
