I get the impression he's holding back on what the research really shows.
I found a recent article describing a study performed between March 10 to May 2, 2020. It was published by the Henry Ford Health System. The study involved over 2500 patients where they used HCQ much earlier and at less of a dose than in other studies. They monitored patients carefully during treatment for cardiac effects. Overall, they had very positive results.

In mid June, the FDA pretty much stopped HCQ from being used for Covid patients. I remember hearing reports from some real sick patients who stated that HCQ saved their lives.
How horrible if this is nothing more than political, depriving doctors and patients the right to try HCQ after it helped other Covid patients survive.
