"afford pants right now" is one of the things that happen when people are prevented from earning a living--along with being "down to food or pants."
People have always worked "long and hard" there. Ever read what employees have said about Wal-Mart?

The mask-wearing is more of their virtue-signaling as protection: Nice stores. Be a shame if anything happened to them....
