If the government seized your house via eminent domain to make a field hospital in a crisis, they’d have to pay you. Closing tens of thousands of small and medium-sized businesses, or making it illegal to patronize them indefinitely, is just seizing your property by another name, and policymakers owe it to those affected to right the injustice.
