Obama claimed (there's video) Trump would need a magic wand to get 4% growth and renegotiate trade deals. He also claimed that cutting regulations would hurt, not help, the economy.

Sad. Obama only needed one good year of economic growth. If he knew how to do that in 2016, he would have. Hillary would be president now. He didn't know how to do it. Obama thought Trump's ideas were "magic" and wouldn't help.

Trump became president, did what he said he was going to do, and proved Obama wrong. Simple.
