It is a tragedy anytime someone is killed in an accident. However, most of the time it doesn't warrant covers on People and Time and news coverage day in and day out. This was a sports star, so it's a world event. He had flaws just like anyone else but none of that matters because of the way he died. When I heard about it, I thought it was sad but all I knew of him was his career with the Lakers. I certainly didn't "watch him grow up" and I'm not the one who brought up the rape case because I didn't know anything about that but researched it later. He was a womanizer and probably did some other bad things in his life. The fact that he died in a helicopter crash doesn't change the things he did while he was alive.
