NPR and PBS. News is a small part of their programming. There's PBS kids, Nova (science), Masterpiece (mystery/drama), American Experience (all sorts of American stories), Ken Burns documentaries, Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates (geneology), lots of English series which are all top notch and excellent, This Old House and Ask This Old House, The Great British Baking Show, and The Antiques Roadshow, both the original English version and the American version. Boston has 2 NPR radio stations. One is mostly news and information and the other one is all classical music. NPR and PBS are gems. You can watch or listen to all the wonderful programming and skip the news or anything political if that suits you. If you don't watch, especially PBS TV, you are really missing out. I get 5 different PBS channels with my digital antenna, and if they were the only 5 channels I could ever get, I would be happy. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the National Endowment for the Arts has spent your taxpayer money well.
