We spent a lot of time in Detroit going to Hudson's, Tiger Stadium, Cobo Hall, Greek Town, Olympia, etc. There were some rough neighborhoods (like all major cities have), but we just avoided them as much as possible.

Hamtramck was and is a great city. It is being revitalized right now by LGBTQ groups.

The problem with Dearborn is that it is no longer recognizable as an American city. The Muslims have not assimilated. The Americans had to assimilate to their culture, or leave. A friend of our family lived in East Dearborn and ended up moving after 40-some years in his beautiful home because he was awakened every morning at 5:30 a.m. for the Muslim call to prayer. Is that fair to non-Muslims in that neighborhood? No, it is not. Especially for someone who got off work at midnight and was in the midst of sleeping when awakened by that awful music and chanting at that ungodly hour.

Don't try to paint me into a corner. Look at your own bias about Detroit.
