Breasts ruined after painful mammogram - Carla

Posted: Apr 22nd, 2019 - 9:03 pm In Reply to: Breasts flat and sagging after mammogram - OP

You asked if anyone had experienced this and, unfortunately, it happened to me last week. I am 63. I have dense, large, 32DDD breasts. I had my first mammogram at 28 and have had over 25 since then. Uncomfortable, but not painful. Last week I had a mammogram, followed by an ultrasound. During the mammogram, the tech pulled, pushed and mashed my breast until I could not breathe. I was covered with perspiration, with tears rolling down my face. I told her it was unbearable. She told me she had to get this much compression because my breasts were so dense. I was in so much pain by the time she got through, I had to hold my breasts up with my hands and cry. The ultrasound tech asked me who did my mammo, she said next year to ask for the person she recommended. 5 days later, I can’t sleep, my breasts ache so badly. My right nipple feels like it is on fire from the inside. The worst part: my breasts before were large, but still not saggy. Now they hang down on my chest like an empty sacks. My bra is loose on the top. They hang so low that I perspire underneath. That has never happened before. I am devastated by their appearance. They are so saggy and painful now that I won’t let my husband touch them. I called and spoke with the clinic director. She pretty much blew me off and said she would work with the tech. Beware.
