The true headline here is "Trump turns the media on a dime. Trump forces media to stop talking about New Zealand/White Supremacists/Gun Control."
Look at the timing of his controversial tweets.
For the past 2-3 weeks Dems have been hurting themselves with the Omar stuff, no collusion, releases of sealed Congressional testimony on the FBI/DOJ. During that time Trump's been uncontroversial.
Now the New Zealand thing and he's changing the subject. He's forcing the subject to change.
But Dems don't see it. They think he's too stupid and he's burning himself. They start falling over themselves (like Megan McCain did) to insult him. They report on the "backlash" he faces over his McCain comments. Maybe Pence needs to look at the 25th amendment again...
Trump did it on purpose. He knew the media would be trashing him for the next few days no matter what he did or said. He moved the conversation so they'd trash him for something other than New Zealand. Of course, he didn't know which tweet would move the needle so he carpet bombed.
When will they get it? I hope not any time soon. It's too entertaining.
