But he's yet to do pick a permanent replacement, and that person has to be confirmed by the Senate. Traditionally, the Deputy Attorney General would become the Acting Attorney General until Trump makes his choice and puts his name before the Senate. Instead, he picked someone who is known to have a bias against Mueller and the investigation, which is a blatant political act, not illegal but it's not making him look too stable and could open him up to obstruction charges depending on what he asks this person to do as far as the investigation. Trump could be on a slippery slope with his interim appointee. He needs to tread lightly. He is acting like a man under stress as evidence by his behavior at his disastrous press conference yesterday.
