overspending, especially on fed bureaucracies. Many of them are doubled and unnecessary.
The fed gov collected a record a record $1,305,490,000,000 in individual income taxes through the first nine months of fiscal 2018 (October 2017 through June 2018), because of tax cuts and businesses hiring more people who are paying taxes. Yet, the govt still ran a deficit.
The gov spends way too much no matter what party is in power. The gov has a never ending appetite for money.
As Reagan so succinctly put it:
“The problem is not that people are taxed too little, the problem is that government spends too much.”
Money to Fedgov is like heroin.
We need to have a balanced budget amendment. I would accept those national defense items to be exempt yet still fiscally prudent. Neither political party will ever go for a balanced budget. They are all thieves in one way or another. Besides national security, if the federal government was gone tomorrow, it would hardly make a dent in peoples lives unless they were dependent on it or worked for it.
