Americans VOLUNTEERD for WWII - my dad and 6 uncles

enlisted, joined, volunteered and left their wives and children to go fight. They WANTED to fight. The Senate and congress debated longer about joining WWII than they did on invading Iraq and were more split. I would say WWII was a no brainer. That was a fight America had to join for her security. Picture a world with no England, Australia, Canada, Europe, Russia (no loss there), China (not that bent out of shape) but all under the control of Hitler and Mussolini with Japan fighting for Americas (I guess S. America and Mexico weren't in it.) do you really think that once germany settled Europe, they wouldn't join forces with Japan against America? we almost waited too late to fight Germany, that's why so many Americans died. We waited until Germany had control of Europe and was invading Russia, the Russians burnt their towns as they retreated so the Germans wouldn't have anything and salted the ground. Everyone knew back then, the whole world was fighting for their lives, not oil rights, or trade deficits, or little border disputes but the right to live.

FYI - The reason America is in Afghanistan RIGHT NOW is b/c Russia invaded Afghanistan with their Army and their tanks and NOBODY had a problem with that. Afghan rebels immediately fought the Russian occupation, the only thing Carter could do (the Congress and Senate didn't want to work with him) was boycott the Moscow Olypmics and stop wheat shipments to Russia. And if you remember correctly ppl (this is when the trash talking started) were always saying horrible things about Jimmy Carter (nuclear physicist/graduate of Annapolis). PPl left Afghanistan through Pakistan then as refugees to LA, England, all over the world. That left uneducated ppl in Afghanistan. When Russia was starting to crumble, they pulled out of Afghanistan and left a power vacuum that the Taliban quickly filled. This is why Americans are dying in Afghanistan today. We are cleaning up a mess that Russia made, that could have been mitigated in the 70s if Carter had gotten any support from the people of America or the other elected officials. everybody wanted to play politics and this is the mess we are left with today. Afghanistan is going on 2001 to present that is 17 years. Russia invaded to support a communist takeover. 1973 to 1988, most of the ppl who were educated or had any money or ability to leave had left.

russia is NOT a member of G7 b/c they tried this in Crimea and Ukraine, too. All they do is cause trouble. Google it. russia is a member of UN Security Council (remember the trouble with them during the Korean War - always trying to monkey up the works for democracy) China, France, Russia, UK, and US - all ALLIES from WWII. UN Security Council.

russia has invaded Afghanistan, Chechnya, Georgia, Ukraine, and now they are in Syria, and not to promote peace or democracy.
