You know what I think is sad? That someone - making so much more money

Than us to start with gets enough of a tax break to buy a car, and that we middle/low income earners get $16 a week. That was really my question.

That makes sense, doesn't it? No, it really doesn't make sense.

Therein lies the problem with the tax cuts. If you think I should be happy for all those people earning so much money to begin with who got tax cuts, no I am not happy for them. Not really "jealous or angry" in your words, but they just don't need it, I do.

If Trump et al had just been a tad more generous to us poors, we probably would not begrudge people who also got a tax cut, but this? It's a terrible tax bill.

So yeah, probably all those people who love Fox News and who have been taught that being rich and rich people are great and they earned every penny and don't take it away by taxing them, and yeah you will get there one day too if you keep watching, well they will be glad for you.

The rest of us poors just wish we could get a piece of that and make our lives easier.

Another concurrent thing that is happening in MT (and related positions I guess) in a very rushed fashion is that apparently any regulation on this industry and who knows how many others is gone and this has resulted in our work being reduced, companies pretty much pretending they don't know why (after contracting it out) and hang in there even though we have half our hours or less, pretty much disappearing our jobs without even the courtesy of a layoff. They are just hoping we slink away and go to work for contractors for less pay, no benefits, no health insurance, etc. MAGA right?

No, not really jealous. A little angry maybe. I just don't think this is a fair America anymore. No matter how hard you work, whatever you do, very hard to get up to even where you were 10 years ago, much less any real prosperity. For us poors anyway.

I wish anyone well who has gotten ahead and is doing well, I just think this particular tax cut gave to those who have and took away from those who have not, and that is not the American way that I grew up with.
