Anyone old enough to remember that term, "shacking up?" When I was a teenager, my mother was quite strict in teaching my sister and I that you only had sex after marriage and having a baby and not being married made a girl a sl**. But it's a new value system today. I have three sons and 13 grown nieces and nephews. All have moved in with their partners without being married. Only two got married but one divorced because they didn't like being married. Then, after the divorce, they are both now living with new partners. Lots of babies being born too with only one couple being married and that was only because their employer only offered IVF to married partners. I have two grandchildren and technically no married DIL, just my DIL that I call them because after they are more than just my sons' girlfriends. I just was thinking about my mom today while babysitting and wondering what she would think! I have just learned to accept shacking up and not worry about the old values anymore but I do wonder about this brave new world sometimes.
