Most members of the NRA do agree with stricter forms of gun control as much as other non-member citizens. The NRA will not budge and threatens to withhold $$$ from politicians in election campaigns on every level. They go so far as to state stuff about a "slippery slope," and "taking away the second amendment." It only takes just a little research to know that the second amendment will NEVER be abolished simply due to the process that would be necessary to accomplish that.
When I think about it, it is not just 20 dead kids here, 34 here, 17 in Florida, etc. that is the result of these mass shootings with military style weapons. It is fear in EVERY child in EVERY school where it happens, their friends, parents siblings, and surrounding school districts. These kids are afraid to go to school and everyone they know is afraid for them. This is correctly termed a form of terrorism. Who can blame them. These are not guns used for a form of protection or for hunting. They have ONE purpose, to kill as many as possible as quickly as possible.
These kids have stared at the barrel of an AR-15, dodged bullets, watched their classmates and teachers go down after being shot, and stepped over dead bodies after the chaos, as young as the 5-6 year olds at Sandy Hook and 14 years old in Florida. They have been robbed of their childhood and will probably be messed up for quite some time. And the NRA will not budge on the weapons that do it. That is why THEY are called terrorists because that is exactly what these military weapons have accomplished, terrorism. Nothing else.
