Then remember last week when the House Republicans wanted to release their memo. The news at that time was checks and balances were in place. If Trump didn't want the Republican memo out, he had 5 days to decide. Then they could take the memo to a vote before the full House. If the House voted to release it, there's nothing the President can do.
The same situation (checks and balances) is still in place for the Democrat memo. Trump didn't want to release it. Now the Dems can take it to the full House for a vote.
Why aren't they doing that?
The linked article tells us why:
"It does appear that the Democratic memo contains details that could be reasonably said to endanger national security.
In a House hearing this week, Texas Republican Rep. Will Hurd, a former CIA officer, suggested changes to the document, including omissions of a country location of a cited source and details of FBI capabilities..."
The Dem memo really does cite "sources and methods" that would jeopardize national security if released. Of course, we now know the Republican memo did nothing of the sort, even though the FBI and CNN told us differently.
If the Dems took their memo to the full House for a vote no one would be able to vote for it in its current form. But you won't hear that story from CNN. Nope. Once again, it's all Trump's fault.
Do they really think they're fooling people? All this went down in the last couple of weeks. It's not like we're going to forget. Maybe they're thinking their viewers and readers never knew the whole story to begin with, because CNN never told them the whole story.
