In a nutshell, Trump claims it vindicates him. He was warned by democrats, FBI and DOJ that it had information that was sensitive and he apparently didn't care and released it without blocking out anything. Why, because it benefited him.
Part 2, Dems memo was blocked, Trump claiming it had sensitive information that could hurt national security. He could have blacked out names and/or sensitive information but didn't.
I really don't think it is CNN lying to you, it is more like Trump playing games and trying to discredit the Mueller investigation and deflect to the politicized republican memo that he feels vindicates him.
My opinion is that neither memo should be released. They are having several investigations going on at the same time so let those play out and then get back with us.
It would be highly foolish to believe that Trump's motives and actions with the memos weren't self-serving.
