Does anyone know how to get mold off the caulk around the tub without tearing it all out.

This is a tub surround and has a lot of seams so dont feel like ripping it all out.  I have tried different things but nothing seems to help and I dont want to damage the surround.

I have a bathtub that was bought many years ago. It is one of those that they put over the original tub. When I see mold on the caulking, I get cotton balls and soak them in regular bleach and them place them over the mold. That takes it off. I just have spots of mold, so this works for me. I think you can buy spray cleaners that take off the mold, but I have never tried them.

you might try a drain cleaner; it cleans up a lot of stains - nm

Husband is maintenance supervisor, says if it has been there a long time you have to cut out the caulk. If only there for short time use bleach.

Yes, I have thought bleach is the only remedy also.

I shudder to think what might be growing - in the old tub underneath.

I use a Clorox bleach pen, leave it sit for a few hours, and spray it off, works but I have to repeat every other month or so.

Maybe you have a leak from new bathtub into the old one causing the mold or maybe boards around the tub have developed mold. My hubby is a carpenter/painter/fixer upper and usually the mold is from another source sort of like growing out of one space into another. If you had a professional install it, then maybe they can fix it. My hubby also uses either straight Chlorox or half-half mixture and sprays over it and then recaulks the entire area with water proof/mildow and mold proof caulking. I hope this helps.

I have found that peroxide followed by Clorox Clean Up (spray), followed by a scrubbing with an old tooth brush works for white grout. Might help in your case. I guess it could dry out the caulking...add something like Vaseline??

just spray some bleach on it - moldy old MT

Ordinary household bleach kills mold and mildew, will also bleach out discoloration

I think putting new caulk in easier than bleaching - suzy homemaker

and it is fun to do and it feels good to have the nice fresh caulk. There are videos on Youtube that show step by step. I would buy the best quality caulk you can find. Some are guaranteed for 20 years, I believe.

Go crazy and buy a caulking gun and caulk around all your windows and any openings/crack in your house and save big bucks on heating this winter and be more comfortable without the drafts.

Has anyone experienced mold inside a wall?  There was a crack above the window sill and when I peaked inside, I believe I saw a small amount of black mold.  Should I hire a mold inspector?  Or just patch over it and take my chances! ...

HLN Is Tearing Apart Juror's Reasons For Casey Anthony Not Guilty VerdictJul 13, 2011
Nor did they have the sliightest understanding of circumstantial evidence. What is funny to me is when the jurors try to justify their decision, they end up hanging themselves with their lack of knowledge of the case and the rules of the case.  Can't wait for next juror to speak up who contradicts or justifies decision based on misundertanding of rule clearly set out by Judge Perry. Clearly these jurors were misguided to say the least and uneducated at best. Maybe that is ...
