Some corporations don't even like Trump's

to being environmentally conscious are now going to be at a considerable disadvantage.

So who is going to stop them from hugging a few trees? (sm) - Silly

[ In Reply To ..]
They can still try to save the planet as best they can - can't they?

Just because some are willing too doesn't - mean they all will

[ In Reply To ..]
I don't find environmental issues "silly."
That was my moniker, silly. (sm) - Silly
[ In Reply To ..]
If theyare that concerned about it, then theyshould do it on their own.
The whole point of the article was that many - businesses are doing it on their own
[ In Reply To ..]
By removing the protections, they are giving the okay to the ones who are not interested in "hugging trees" as stated above, but putting dollars in their pockets while risking our safety.

But by Trump and conservative rules, would that - not make them suckers?

[ In Reply To ..]
After all, their competition (companies who don't care about the environment) will be raking in the dough and committing no doubt acts of gross destruction to the environment. Yee hah, drill baby drill!

We have heard, after all, on this very board, many many times how only fools pay taxes they don't have to. Even Trump's many bankruptcies and complete lack of paying any tax for years has been cheered by his supporters. After all, he is just a good businessman, right?

This is a grossly dangerous and extremely backward move on the part of Trumpy. He is dragging us back much further and much more quickly than we could have imagined. I guess you all want to go back to smog filled skies and terrible water?

This is by far the worst thing he is doing, although it's hard to say, since everything he is doing is terrible.

He is taking orders from Bannon, who wants to blow up the government. Well, I can't understand why anyone would want this, but there you go, he can do no wrong in his supporters' eyes.
With all the evidence around us - Resist Trump

of environmental disasters, climate change, polluted waterways, it amazes me that some still call environmentalists "tree huggers." I suppose this attitude will continue until something happens in their own backyards.
I used to live in a logging community - with a white paper mill
[ In Reply To ..]
The paper mill fouled the ocean with millions of gallons of chlorine bleach, and the air with a sulfurous stench. When people complained about the air, the city fathers would say, "That's the smell of money!" They were since forced, kicking and screaming, to abate their smokestack emissions, saying it would cost so much they would have to close down. Of course, the entire time they had planned to move to Mexico where the labor was cheaper. It had nothing to do with environmental cleanup, just greed. Sad.
I lived by the Kingston - coal ash spill
[ In Reply To ..]
It was horrible and they are still cleaning that up. People's homes were ripped off the foundation by coal ash, toxins filled the rivers and streams, people are having long-term illnesses from the toxins, wildlife was destroyed. We need more regulations, not less.
Of right, republicans want their children to breath dirty air - and drink dirty water.
[ In Reply To ..]
The new home of anti-capitalists is environmentalism. They love to shut down businesses. Most republicans I know are strong conservationists.

There are at least 130 groups calling for an end to capitalism. They are back by the UN which says it all.

How many acts of arson have the environmental groups been responsible for? Who is blocking oil drilling causing our prices to rise? Remember that fake Hollywood film about fracking?

Of course there are problems. What is there in life that doesn't have problems?

I remember Paul Ehrlich and others who said we would be gone by now.

The environmental movement is about taxing companies. Guess who ultimately pays.

Yes The Rich/corporations HAVE To PayApr 09, 2011
more and yes there have to be cuts.  The rich have seen their wealth RISE AND RISE AND RISE while all the peons below them have seen their wealth DECREASE AND DECREASE AND DECREASE if they are even lucky to still have a job. Congress has taken us into war after war which costs money (and made alot money for those already wealthy too didnt it-shouldve been an excess profit tax on those war profiteering companies), there was the donut hole, TARP, GM bailout, stimulus, etc.  Those things ...

Sanders Confronts Corporations For TaxJun 17, 2015
Sorry, no MTSOs. Today, a group of 80 CEOs are lecturing Congress about the need to cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, while lowering tax rates for millionaires, billionaires, and the largest corporations in America. These are some of the same CEOs who head corporations that:  received a total taxpayer bailout of more than $2.5 trillion from the Federal Reserve and the Treasury Department and nearly caused the economy to collapse just four years ago;  outsourced hundreds of ...

Flash: What Corporations Do Or Do Not Pay In TaxesJan 10, 2016
Bernie Sanders is like a magician..."Watch this", while he palms the coin.  Now, just try this statement on for size: "XYZ Oil Corporation paid no taxes last year.  That's the reason I'm broke, working in a dead-end job, driving a junker, saddled with debt and hoping to hit the lottery." Bernie Sanders hopes you buy into that nonsense - and some will, because of course everything is the fault of someone else, but millions won't buy it, and that's why Sanders will ...

According To Smart Money Magazine, Here Is What Corporations Are DoingMar 12, 2011
"Yes, companies have boosted profits—to near-record levels—by slashing costs." That's also what I have been seeing. The companies are making more money than ever before, taking advantage of those tax breaks, but they are pleasing stockholders by cutting costs (and people) in order to do it. That's very good business for them, but not so much for Americans who need to work. This is not a political comment, because it has been happening under both administrations.   ...

Why Do You Believe Special Interests/lobbyists/corporationsFeb 07, 2016
Watching political talk show and the subject came up as to why millions/billions of dollars are contributed to politicians. Jake Tapper on CNN was interviewing Bernie Sanders where Bernie Sanders took the opportunity to say his contributions did not come from big business or corporations and he was not planning on taking money from them.  Jake Tapper commented those contributions were not given for the "fun of it" and insinuated votes were being bought by these contributions.  Does an ...

News Yesterday: Corporations Had Their Best Year Since 1900Apr 05, 2011
Depression for some and more luxury than ever before for others. When I look at our economy over the last 5-6 years, I see a very wide range of properity vs. economic depression. I truly believe that those in the poor-to-middle class are headed for depression, while the news this week was that corporations had their best year since 1900. They just aren't sharing with the rest of us. ...

Trump Paid Off More AGs In His Trump University ScandalSep 07, 2016
Current Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, investigated Trump University when Abbott served as Texas attorney general. After Abbott dropped the investigation, Trump donated $35,000 to his gubernatorial campaign. TRUMPAug 03, 2016
All I have seen is Hillary bashing on this site. Has anyone mentioned how brash, rude, and just plain disgraceful Trump is acting during his speeches? How he made fun of a disabled person, how he is planning on attacking China?, how he told a woman to remove her crying child from the room during one of his "speeches"? Do any of you realize he has no idea how to be diplomatic? Do you realize what will happen to the USA if he ticks off China and starts another war, especially with this superpower ...

I would ask all my supporters to tell any pollster who calls that they support Hillary Clinton. One of two things would probably happen: 1. Pollsters fall for it and get the election wildly wrong. 2. Pollsters don't fall for it and can't make any predictions. Either way, it would be the end of the disgusting, crooked polling business that seems to be more trying to influence opinion than objectively reporting it, and we'd all be much better off without them. ...
