However, I appreciate the apology. It's just that it seems counterproductive and divisive to paint with broad strokes. As soon as we decide we know who the other person is, i.e., our ideological enemy, we stop listening to them.
Though we are all parts of various groups, we're still individuals with beliefs and behavior that can vary significantly from that of our respective groups. There is a wide spectrum even among televangelists. No one wants to be vilified because of the words or actions of someone else.
As far as the names you've been called, I hope that ceases as well. Again, it does nothing at all but foster alienation and break down communication.
