Sam's Club Pub Burger

Posted: Aug 4, 2015

Hi everyone,

Has anyone ever had a Pub Burger from Sam's Club? Not the Bubba Burger, the Pub Burger. Hubby and I took a bite and we simultaneously said "Lestoil." It was awful. I threw mine in the garbage disposal. He ate his. I have no idea if they soaked the meat in Lestoil because it was going bad, if they didn't rinse the mixing bowl of some type of cleaner (like Lestoil), or if there's a spice out there that tastes like Lestoil.

I guess I'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience with the burger. I probably would have eaten it if I knew for sure it wasn't soaked or spilled in Lestoil, because now I had to make myself an entire other dinner. I can't seem to find any reviews on it, except for one great review on the Sam's Club site, which doesn't necessarily mean anything to me.

Not the Pub Burger but, yes, the Bubba Burgers are the bomb. Thanks for the warning though on the Pub Burger!

I had a similar experience with Totino's pizza - MT

It totally tasted like Lestoil or even bug spray. I wondered what was going on. It was not my imagination. I am wondering of the chemicals in these things to preserve are safe anymore. I am shying away from this stuff. Regarding burgers the Ball Park Beef Patty is a good buy. Those burgers taste like they are right off the grill. Sorry for your bad experience.

Thanks - From OP

I believe you that it wasn't your imagination. Hubby took a bite, then asked me to take a bite without telling me what he thought, and I came out with Lestoil right a way. That was his first impression, too. He didn't want to prejudice my taste buds, so he waited a few seconds for my answer.

Mind you, I have never purposely eaten Lestoil, but if I had to put a name to the taste, that's exactly what it would be. They smelled fine cooking, looked pretty normal (a little soft, but they do have soy in them), didn't shrink a bunch or anything. We are taking them back and getting our money back, that's for sure.

Well - From OP

I don't know if the Pub Burger just tastes like that, or if we got a tainted batch. Hubby figures it's just some weird spice they used too much of. We are very good at picking out what spice is what, and this one is new to us if it is a spice or flavoring.

O'Keefe Documentary Claims To Uncover College Support Of ISIS Support ClubApr 02, 2015
So, I read on a friend's private conservative blog elsewhere that James O'Keefe, a conservative documentary filmmaker, had just "caught red-handed" some college administrators at a university in Florida who were "encouraging and supporting" ISIS supporters.  I like my friend, but, erm, I don't always agree with his politics and  I'm not so sure his assertion is actually the case on this one.  In fact, the blog author wrote his post based on his assumption on a ...
