Judge Orders Clinton Foundation racketeering case

Posted: May 30, 2015

set a trial date in the racketeering case against the Clinton Foundation and Bill and Hillary Clinton. Judge Donald Middlebrooks of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida ordered the racketeering, influenced and corrupt organizations, or RICO, case to head to trial January 20, 2016. The order, entered Friday and obtained by the Washington Examiner, came days after Larry Klayman of Freedom Watch filed a lengthy civil complaint against the Clintons and their foundation in the same court. While the Clinton legal team could settle the case or enter a variety of motions in an effort to derail the lawsuit before the trial, the judge's swift decision means the matter could go to court before the Feb. 1 Iowa caucus and Feb. 9 New Hampshire primary. Klayman, who has filed dozens of lawsuits against the Clintons and other prominent politicians, suggested the former first couple and their family philanthropy used their political clout to drum up foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation and lavish diplomatic favors for contributors while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state. Klayman also asked the judge to order a "neutral forensic expert ... to take custody and control of the private email server and reconstruct and preserve the official U.S. Government records relating to the conduct of U.S. foreign policy during Defendant Secretary Clinton's term as Secretary of State." Judge Middlebrooks has not yet ruled on Klayman's request that the court seize Hillary Clinton's server. The court documents also state the Clinton Foundation and the former first couple must discuss the Cameras in the Courtroom pilot project, an initiative in the Southern District of Florida aimed at incorporating video recordings into civil cases. "I am pleased that the Court has set this case for early jury trial," Klayman told the Examiner. "This is a matter of extreme national importance and before now, for decades, the Clintons have not had to answer to a jury for their alleged crimes. Now, justice will be done." The Clinton Foundation declined a request for comment Friday. Washington Examiner ;

infrastructure improvements expect bribes from construction companies. At the end of each of these transactions there’s a payback. What did AZ state think they were getting?

Look at the current FIFA business in the news now because of their ties to the Clinton Foundation. They were going to get paid back with bribes. When the Democrats wrote up the new banking regulations, they were going to get campaign contributions. There is always payback.

True.... I contribute regularly for that good feeling I get helping people in need. - I also get a tax deduction.

With the possible exception of Jimmy Carter, most "government officials" have left office and cashed in for themselves. Most of them give speeches for a fee or become lobbyists for some group or other. So Bill Clinton left office and spent his time establishing a global/worldwide charitable foundation, forming the foundation in 2001. He used his multitude of contacts to raise incredible amounts of money to help millions of people worldwide. In its early work, the focus was on preventing and treating HIV/AIDS globally. Hillary Clinton did not become part of her husband's foundation until 2013, AFTER she left the office of Secretary of State.

Only the GOP would try to make something nefarious out of charitable contributions, and the conspiracy crowd and Clinton haters are eager to believe any baseless story without question. Pay no attention to the fact that arms sales to NATO or ANZUS nations are automatic; the gullible masses are preconditioned to believe the baseless hype because the right-wingnut propaganda machine is banking on the fact that they won't concern themselves with treaties and arms sales that have been going on for decades but rather blame arm sales on charitable contributions. Pay no attention to the fact that we've been selling arms to those countries for years gullible voters, you should conclude that Britain was worried about getting an arms deal approved so greased the wheels at the Clinton Foundation ahead of time, somehow with the knowledge that Hillary would become Secretary of State in the future (Brits are psychic that way) in order to rubber stamp those future deals. LOL. Like I said, NATO and ANZUS Treaty with a lot of this already spelled out long before Hillary.

This whole count on American gullibility and stupidity to fear and smear is a strategy straight out of the Karl Rove playbook of taking a candidate's strength and turning it into a weakness. John and Cindy McCain adopted a black child from Bangladesh, but in the 2000 election season, Karl Rove smeared that into the question: "Would you vote for John McCain if you knew he had fathered an illegitimate black child?" Disgusting, right? The technique relies on voter gullibility. You might also remember current Secretary of State John Kerry's military service to his country being twisted into a swift boat personal attack on him during his run for the presidency in 2004, again the handiwork of Karl Rove.

I contribute not just money, but my time. It's not because I want to feel good - about myself, but I was taught

to tithe 10%. I like the feeling I get when I see people who have been helped be able to help others.

Larry Klayman...... LOL...... again? - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Just FYI to the conservatives seeing this and thinking this means anything; it means absolutely nothing. Conspiracy theory right wingnut Larry Klayman strikes again. LOL. What a tool this guy is.

Larry Klayman has been suing the Clintons for decades now. He's like Orly Taitz, completely off his rocker but so indicative of the lengths the far right-wing fringe conspiracy crowd will go to in exhibiting that they're bat crap crazy. He stalks the Clintons like Orly Taitz and the birthers stalk President Obama. I lost count of what number this lawsuit is; I think this lawsuit might be number 19 or 20 over the course of decades. He filed a lawsuit alleging that Bill Clinton as President of the United States had Ron Brown killed. He filed a lawsuit concerning the investigation into the death of Vince Foster.

I wonder how that lawsuit he filed against his mother is going? LOL.

DNC talking points? - nm

Sure. The DNC forced Larry Klayman to file the 20 lawsuits - just so they'd have talking points. LOL

I enjoy very much the Fox Newsian-type attempts at political debate. I say "Fox Newsian" because that is the Fox News favored propaganda technique. Fox frequently uses questions to substitute for political debate and to insinuate a falsehood, and the gullible viewers run with the false premise.

Just as a crazy overblown for instance, Fox might ask: "Does Hillary Clinton have 3 breasts?"

Then the next day, the Internet is buzzing with the false rhetoric that Hillary has an extra breast complete with why this is proof she is sinister and explaining in vivid detail how she has kept it hidden all these decades, with the icing on the cake being photoshopped pictures. LOL.

You asked: "DNC talking points?"

No, that is the truth. No one forced the right-wing conspiracy nutjob to file the baseless suits for the mere purpose of "talking points." Klayman's been out there filing these baseless suits for decades now against not just the Clintons but several other political figures.

Klayman is certainly and by no means alone in the right-wingnut universe. When any of the right-wing fringe conspiracy nutjobs come up with objective evidence of a crime, let me know. Until that time, it's nothing more than right-wing fantasy about jailing the Clintons that has been percolating for several decades now, similar to left-wing fantasy about jailing Bush and Cheney and their war loving ilk for the crimes they've committed on millions around the globe.

It's a shame to have to think this way, but nothing will come of this, - nothing ever does. Klayman's got

[ In Reply To ..]
guts. I didn't know an individual could file a RICO case, but I guess they can.

Do my eyes deceive me or are Repubs playing the inequity/injustice card in several comments today? - Julia Sugarbaker

[ In Reply To ..]
And not just this thread. I thought you guys didn't believe in an equitable society, that you believe in social Darwinism? I thought you believed in deregulated, free-market capitalism/profiteering, with limited justice for large-scale financial "white collar" crime (to include questionable political donations)?

So even if any of this is true about the Clintons, then quit your cryin', suck it up and realize this kind of thing is exactly what you asked for - you helped build this city - why do you only belly-ache about it when it's a Dem? ;)

Or, you can recognize that these types of things shouldn't go on for either party and that SOME government regulation and justice for white collar crime may be necessary.

Social Darwinism? If this is what you believe, no - wonder you hate republicans.

[ In Reply To ..]
Everything you said is false.
Repubs believe in "survival of the fittest" socioeconomically, but don't admit it - And I don't use the word hate muc
[ In Reply To ..]
Repubs believe we all are already equal enough, but if you work really hard, the strongest and fittest will become successful, do you not?

Left-leaners and libs like me instead believe we don't all start from the same starting place and that there are glass ceilings. We want more equality and fairness in society and don't mind helping others out that can't help themselves, it's one of the things that separates us as humans from other animals - but you call us communists for showing compassion for others and want to help them survive, those who simply can't as well as others.

Therefore, left-leaning independents like us do NOT adhere to social darwinism, only evolutionary biology/darwinism. Only Repubs believe in social darwinism

And I don't "hate" anyone. No one uses that word, in my house, because nobody here ever feels the need to use it. Typically, haters only use that word regularly themselves.
That just not true. I believe that making people dependent is - bad, teach a man to fish and all that.

Do you know what the universal motivation for all human beings is - after basic survival? Julia Sugarbaker
[ In Reply To ..]
It's definitely not dependency, in fact, quite the opposite.

And it's not money or even power.

When basic survival is already assured, believe it or not, we learned surprisingly at college (would have to dig for the studies) that the biggest motivating force for anyone to do anything is actually - mastery.

And if you think about it just using common sense, that's 100% true.

Whether that's a corporation of a video game, it doesn't matter - we all want to master something. And once we feel we've mastered it, we become bored and don't want to do it anymore. So our goal in life is to find a challenge there's a chance we COULD master, but the fun is in the trying - and that is universal - or else we wouldn't do anything at all.

Some people do not feel they are capable of mastery in certain areas. Some people are afraid to try to master certain areas. Some people don't know how master certain areas and need help. Some people are prevented from even trying by other people. And some people sincerely are just honest they will never master many things because they know they lack the capacity, physically, intellectually or emotionally - and all of these things combined is what leads to dependency - failure.

Dependency is never the goal for any human being - it's what happens when you fail, whomever is to blame.

And for those people, it's a matter of helping them find what to master, when they're lost, or helping those that sincerely don't have the capacity to master and just need to focus on surviving like everyone else.

Do we want to maintain the species or just ourselves?
Have you ever read Lord of the Flies? - NM

The point of that book is to rise above our selfish animal natures for whole species survival - is it not? ~ Julia Sugarbaker
[ In Reply To ..]
In my opinion, people that have not risen above their own selfish survival (or have devolved back to caring about just their own survival) - as well as believe others could succeed if they just applied themselves/were "strong" enough - are better examples of the worst characters in that book. And though such types exist in both political parties, the Republican party is the only party that actually condones and sanctions that belief.

Do you want your entire diverse species to survive or just clones of yourselves, Repubs?

Your call
actually, it's just the opposite. - nm

No, Ralph and the Naval Officer who rescues them are what I describe - Julia Sugarbaker
[ In Reply To ..]
As I recall, Ralph fights off the animalistic and societal urge to mistreat and eat others to survive, and still manages to survive himself, weeping for innocence lost but hopes for the future and return to human decency - he realizes that empathy AND intellect (as well as hope/faith) are all essential for our survival of our species as a whole.

And hope comes to fruition, with a little help from the naval officer, as I recall, he is equally disturbed by how quickly the boys have devolved into madness and animal nature.

The book is trying to say that if we survive the way of the devolved boys, we don't deserve to survive at all - better to do your best to survive, but push on for progress and still help others - or we do not deserve to survive/be rescued at all.

Did you miss that part?

Or are you trying to say, in Pol-Pot fashion, that all intellectuals, glasses wearers, the overweight and asthmatics should die?

Thank God I'm more a Ralph than a Piggy, then, who realizes that empathy AND intellect are required to combat the evil nature found in men.

"Got to help them things smaller and sweeter than you"

~ from "Beasts of the Southern Wild", 2010
Am I trying to say glasses wearers should die? What? - I'm tired of being insulted.

To above commmenter, I asked because your point isn't clear. Clarify or take it as insult - your choice~Julia Sugarbaker
[ In Reply To ..]
I posted in the wrong spot after hitting "back" too far, my apologies.

But it sounded to me like your point was people subjectively considered "weak" or "different" or "too ___" in some way would be killed by the other boys. I asked if you agreed with that, if that was your point, and I hoped not because that's what Pol Pot believed.

If you don't and wish to clarify, please do. Or pout and take my question as insult, as you just said. Your choice.
Regardless, though I personally am not a piggy in any way but wearing glasses (as of recently), I prefer hanging out with Piggy types. And they are some of the strongest and most beautiful people I know. Weakness truly is in the eye of the beholder.

But better for Ralph and Piggy to survive as best they can but become prey than become predator. Because predators didn't earn/don't deserve to survive to best represent the species, which was the point of the book.

For the 1 or 2 people here that might think this is interesting, - Clinton formed a shell corporation

[ In Reply To ..]
called WJC, LLC, this is a "consulting group" but supposedly where some of the money is being funneled through. It was formed 2 days after Hillary was named Sec. of State.

Then there's clintonmail.com, the domain name created 8 days before Hillary was confirmed.

Plenty of ways to funnel money.

What kind of moron would use their own initials to do something nefarious? - Answer: They wouldn't

[ In Reply To ..]
The right-wing propaganda machine counts on the gullibility of Americans in order to perpetrate the baseless accusations and make something normal seem like something sinister.

It's political theater, and they count on people not understanding complex financial transactions, which people generally don't.

Because the MSM doesnt do their job in reporting it, and some of them - actually "donated" money.

[ In Reply To ..]
Media bias?
Rupert Murdoch donated $1 million himself. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
He's the owner of Fox News. Carly Fiorina has been involved with the Clinton Foundation as have many Republicans. Many people have contributed from both parties and have never criticized the Clinton Foundation since its inception in 2001. I personally give regular donations to the Clinton Global Initiative to help fight HIV/AIDS. Lots of people do. People in the media are people too, both Democrats and Republicans, etc. It's no secret whatsoever that George Stephanopolous worked for the Clintons in the past.

The same conservatives whining about media bias seem to have no problem with Fox News being an arm of the GOP and Karl Rove and his Crossroads GPS giving money to GOP candidates. Incidentally, Crossroads GPS is a PAC whose donors don't have to be disclosed. Who do those candidates owe favors? Why is Karl Rove not disclosing which candidates his PAC is giving to? Why is Hillary being held to a different standard when she is actually disclosing the donors? Media bias?

The whole thing is baseless accusations. They're counting on gullible people to believe there's some kind of quid pro quo with countries the United States has been selling arms to for decades, long before Hillary Clinton became Secretary of State. NATO and ANZUS Treaty nations have bought arms from the United States for a long time and certainly needed no contribution to a global charitable organization in order to do the same business in they've always done here with the United States, the largest arms dealer in the world for a long, long time now. They're banking on people's limited knowledge of historical facts to claim some kind of pay-to-play scenario that just flat out does not exist. Britain does not need to give to the Clinton foundation to buy arms from the U.S. We are obligated by certain treaties that existed before Hillary decided to run. LOL.

Suddenly people who've had nothing but praise for the Clinton Foundation and contributed to it themselves have problems with it. Nothing more than conservatives counting on the ignorance and gullibility of Americans and the ever putrid stench of politics.
Then you should love Fox News!! - nm
