Write to President Trump!

I urge all MTs to write to President Trump at the White House about your MT situation. He needs to start meeting with the heads of hospital systems and bring our acute care and radiology transcription positions back to the hospitals in the United States. Dictation is being sent offshore and then brought back to the United States - hospitals need to be held accountable just like the automobile, manufacturing, and tech companies. Many hospitals used to allow us to work from home. If hospitals bring our jobs back to the United States, we no longer have to work for transcription services. President Trump will help us if we speak out!!!

We need more than emotional appeals; we need hard facts.

Not surprisingly, it's not easy to find hard numbers on how many MT positions have been eliminated, offshored, and outsourced.

The link below has some data, including a few legislative attempts to regulate this.

If anyone can locate hard data with real numbers, please post it in this thread.

I have written President Obama in the past and received a hard-copy/letter reply. I have now hand-written President Trump. I urge you all to send a snail mail - they do get read and answered!

I think a lot of handwritten letters will get noticed more than emails/tweets. It is a start for sure - we need to fight for our jobs/money back! We don't need data - all President Trump needs to ask CEOs of hospital systems is: Is the transcription work for your hospital system being off-shored and sent back to the United States? One question is all it will take.

To write an effective letter -- especially one that has to do with EMPLOYMENT/JOBS, one needs to cite STATS/FACTS.

Sounds like maybe an excuse not to write. If enough MTs write him, trust me, he will take notice. I've written him a month ago by e-mail. I will now follow that with a snail mail. It's easier to sit around and complain than to take action. How about this for data? How many of you have had to file bankruptcy (myself included) due to loss of wages because of outsourcing??

The automobile, manufacturing and tech companies are doing what they have always done, and will continue to do, with a few exceptions. Trump cannot force hospitals to do anything, this is not a dictatorship (yet).

then he benefits from having low cost transcription. Of course, we don't know this because he won't release his financial information. But if he does own hospital stock don't look for him to help you any time soon.
