"Too Many Mitts"

Posted: Oct 21, 2012

The "Salt Lake Tribune" has endorsed President Obama.  Like so many of us, they just can't figure out which Mitt people would be voting for if they choose him.

The Houston Chronicle (usually a lib rag) has endorsed - Mitt Romney.

Hmmmm, is this supposed to - be tit-for-tat? (s/m)

Good try, I guess, but I still think it says a little more when this large-city newspaper in the state where Mitt saved the Olympics, where he might be seen as a big hero and an adopted "native son," endorses the other guy. The Houston Chronicle may or may not be a "liberal rag," as you call it (I really have no idea about it because I frankly don't keep tabs on which newspapers lean liberal and which lean conservative); but Houston is a major city in a state chock full of conservatives, so that doesn't seem quite as surprising to me.

Now, if the CHICAGO Tribune came out and endorsed Mitt Romney, I suppose THAT would be a surprising bit of news! The Houston Chronicle doing so....not so much. :-)

Usually a lib rag? Chronicle endorsed GOP candidates - 44 years straight before

its ONE aberration in 2008. Did you read how the endorsement was centered around the (misinformed) hissy-fit they threw over the Orbiter being sent to CA instead of NASA-Houston? I did, and found the analysis embarrassingly sophomoric, especially considering the electorate they represent went decisively BLUE last time out and is slated to do the same this time.

I'm glad you called Obama an aberration. Saved me - the trouble. LOL (sm)

Does that mean failure of epic proportions?
I called their one SINGLE endorsement of a democrat - an aberration to illustrate

the overall lack of credibility of the original "lib rag" claim...along with the Chronicle's ridiculous tantrum they threw over housing the Orbiter. Getting a choir member to step forward and sing louder is nothing to celebrate.

That's a surprise. The Tribune's the major Salt Lake City newpaper. - "Who is this guy, really, and what in the wor

does he truly believe?"

EXACTLY my questions. I've gone from thinking he was a viable alternative to profound mistrust.

Good for the SLC Tribune. We've never had ANY candidate use lying, changing statements multiple times in one day, even, as a strategy like this.

Mitts Behind Closed Doors Hot Mic Moment: Slash DOEducation, Eliminate HUDApr 16, 2012
As if standing idly by while the housing market crashes isn't enough, Romney tells big-buck donors if he had his way, he would eliminate HUD (Romney Sr was Secretary of HUD) all together, another apparent reversal of his previous multi-family/anti-sprawl policies while serving as governor of Massachusetts.  Out of sight, out of mind. Maybe he could fund bare-bones cuts to the Department of Education by moving all recipients of students loans to labor camps after graduation.& ...

" Romney has raised the most frequently asked question of the campaign: "Who is this guy, really, and what in the world does he truly believe?" The evidence suggests no clear answer, or at least one that would survive Romney’s next speech or sound bite.
