Well, in that interview with the author, he sure painted a pretty bleak picture for the American society as a whole. Can't say that I disagree with him, but one would like to think that there is more hope for people to work together to make significant changes in government than he led us to believe.

Education and a living wage are the only things that have a chance to change things, but how do you bring education to people who have never seen anyone in their family get a decent one--for them, the really high achievers are the ones who graduate from high school!

Doing Something WorthwhileJul 14, 2014 Finally, after some years of talking about it, I attended an orientation class to volunteer at our local animal shelter. I see posts from time to time on this board about people wanting to do something to get out of the house, fight depression, etc.
I am now in my fourth week of volunteering. I go to the shelter 2-3 times per week and spend my time in the cat condos. "Frankly, I'm not even sure what are values are anymore in this country. We don't place any values around life or the loss of it, we place no value on our environment or on peace, or on equal opportunity, or on women's rights. Trump Considering Using Seized Cartel AssetsSep 01, 2016 It's always amusing when the pundits opine that Mexico will never pay for the wall. It's obvious that what they envision is Trump sending a bill to Mexico City:
To: Government of Mexico
Re: Demand for Payment
Item: Wall, One.
Amount Due: $60 million
Terms: Payable within 30 days.
There are SO many ways to force Mexico to pay for the wall, whether they like it or not, but the intelligentsia apparently cannot think of anything but this simplistic notion.

On the radio this morning, Glenn Beck threw a minor hissy fit, demanding to know why the media roundly ignored the story he "broke" yesterday linking Goldman Sachs to cap-and-trade to Al Gore to Fannie Mae to Barack Obama to tiny pastries.
