From what I read, it sounds like Boehner (sp) was saying that (paraphrasing here) all those people who have been making tons of money for the last 10 years or so are about to retire, so the government will be getting much, much less money because the younger people are either jobless or making much less money, thereby guaranteeing that we aren't going to be making a dent in that deficit.

That's why I think it's a revenue problem. Get the people to pay the taxes that are due. Sure, cut as much as possible, but it's like any business. You try to get customers in and then you collect the money that is due you. The government needs to start collecting what is due in taxes.

And a good way to do that is get rid - Trigger Happy

of these ridiculous loopholes that are being abused by everyone. That would help bring more revenue right there. I agree and disagree with both pubs and crats here. The Bush tax cuts need to expire. We need to cut more spending. Raising taxes alone won't fix our huge deficit. We gotta make some significant cut backs too.

First and foremost....bring our troops home. That right there would save A LOT of money!!!
