Russian bots and the flood of fake news

Rachel had a very informative segment last night about how the internet--forums, blogs, Facebook, other sites were flooded with fake news that was tracked down to servers in Albania, Macedonia (from what I gathered, these servers really did not exist there).

I recall last October I gave up on this Board because it was too disgusting and stupid for words. There were posts on this board about Hillary throwing things at Matt Lauer, Bill Clinton and a cow, etc., etc. I also found a post from Snopes saying that the first time the story about Hillary throwing something at Lauer was on this very board and appeared without any citation/documentation. These stories spread like wildfire. Apparently, the Russians did not even try to really cover their tracks.

I just want you to know, because they say it is still happening and are wondering what will happen in the 2018 midterms.

not by reading books, but by listening to videos with him saying them and reading his tweets.

As far as Hillary propaganda, the click-on link is from Snopes and the second to last paragraph states that the story was posted on here about her (false) tantrum with Matt Lauer. I know many on this board were posting all kind of claims about Hillary that were simply propaganda (and still are). I did vote for her but do not worship her as the right claims we on the left do, but the propaganda that was going around was ridiculous and unfounded.

The stuff posted about Trump is backed up with reliable resources, mainly quotes from him or video. There is a big difference. As far as the dossier about Trump and the prostitutes, though I believe this is something that he could have done, I don't claim it to be fact because I don't know and wasn't there. That is yet to be determined as far as I'm concerned.

The point is, the internet boards were flooded with these fake stories DURING THE ELECTION, for apparently, the sole purpose of hurting Hillary.

The story about Trump was not spread all over as an absolute fact. Every time I heard the story, it was always qualified that they did not have corroboration. In fact, I believe the main stream news was very careful not to share this information. I do hope that someday the facts of this will come out.
