Oil = Plastic.....

Posted: Mar 6, 2013

Have we figured out yet how we are going to get along without plastic if we get rid of oil? Just asking..... I live in a state with coal and oil - having family/friends working in both industries. It amazes me how passionate we can be about protecting our environment and still being in favor of coal and oil. It is not giving up those things entirely - it is continuing to pursue the cleanest use of those products as we can. As long as the alternatives are more expensive/less efficient, coal and oil will continue to be important. Our efforts should be in continually improving the production rather than throwing them out entirely. ;

Great question. Oil kings making new fortunes every - day are unlikely to be concerned.

After all, they can afford copper plumbing and gold toothbrushes and probably wouldn't be caught dead in polyester. :)

sticking to itself?  This may sound dumb, but for most of my adult life I haven't used it because it's such a pain in the . . . neck.  However there are some things you really just need it for.  Is there a trick to cutting it off and not having to spend 15 minutes fighting with it?  Or does everybody just live with it? ...
