More gaffes
Posted: Sep 27, 2012
Citing Redalert Politics, CNBC.com compiled the following list of gaffes committed by Barack Obama in just the past two weeks:
1) President Obama referred to Israel’s concern over Iran’s march toward a nuclear program as “noise” and then called Israel one of the nation’s closest allies in the region.
According to Kristen Silverberg, former U.S. Ambassador to the European Union, Obama’s commentary is unusual. “There has been a bi-partisan consensus for many years that the US and Israel are the closest of allies.
2) Obama’s Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice said the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi was not premeditated. The commentary directly contradicted top Libyan officials who said the attack was planned in advance.
3) President Obama stated that his biggest lesson from his first term was that “you can’t change Washington from the inside.”
4) President Obama said that Egypt was not an ally, only to then be contradicted by his own State Department.

the President speaks, it makes news. Egypt and Israel know that very well. They also are extremely aware that our support of any nation is not unconditional and that they both need us far more than we do them. Do you realize we've been giving Egypt around $1.5 billion a year in aid? It's NEVER been without strings. Big ones.
BTW, not everyone thinks U.S. foreign policy should grease the way for the Rapture. Very much the contrary, and world leaders make their decisions based on much more prosaic needs.

Romney, campaigning against longtime Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in 2007, took the opposite position . "So he certainly has political skill, but I believe that at this time, to change Washington, it would be helpful to have somebody who comes with more private sector skill, experience outside Washington. I don't think you change Washington from the inside. I think you change it from the outside."
Ditto, ma'am. We really shouldn't take this campaign stuff so seriously - We apparently find plain truth...plain. NM
