The decrease in MT salaries has nothing to do with any one individual. It started years ago and continues regardless of the administration. It has to do with globalization. Hospitals keep demanding lower and lower rates and the only way to get them is to send the work offshore. You can blame Republican and Democratic administrations for many things but not that.

We actually have a hospital in my town, not exactly small, that does not have anyone edit their VR--the doctors are expected to do their own corrections and sign off.

However, agreed, it is silly to blame a political leader for the demise of transcription.

If corporations had to pay a steep fine/tax for - work they offshore, I would be -

willing to bet there would be far less of that going on. Unfortunately, someone came along and said corporations are "people", and gave those "people" all sorts of loopholes so that they wouldn't have to face any consequences for what they're doing to not only our job, but to many in this country.

Our country is spending more money than it is taking in....and has for quite some time now. Because of this...this administration has threatened older folks with no SS check unless the debt ceiling was raised. Now they are talking about changing benefits for the military. There has also been talk about taking away from Medicare and Medicaid.
