*UPDATE* ABC News Corrects...
Editor's Note: An earlier ABC News broadcast report suggested that a Jim Holmes of a Colorado Tea Party organization might be the suspect, but that report was incorrect. ABC News and Brian Ross apologize for the mistake, and for disseminating that information before it was properly vetted.;
Yep - shooter 1st reported as tea-partier, - then nope - he's a registered democrat.

[ In Reply To ..]
From reading the whole thread, looks like this poster is consumed by hatred for anything Republican or conservative. That phrase "discussion is over" is what liberals use when they want to devert attention away from the liberal screw ups and lies. OP immediately took a tragic massacre and threw it up as the Repubiucans were politicizing the massacre when it was ABC, Brian Ross, George Step and other liberals that tried to hang this on the Tea Party...That is liberals using and politicizing tragedy at its worst; the end of the discussion meaning liberals were more interested in crucifying an innnocent man, then pursuing the truth. No discussion, just false accusations against an innocent man who had to go into hiding...Libs are getting expert at driving people into hiding. Ask Spike Lee from the Zimmerman case. Libs crucify and accuse innocents first, wait for someone else to get the facts straight and then blame it on Bush. Libs'justice looks like something from Nazi Germany.

[ In Reply To ..]
Now it's come back to bite their behinds. Dems/Libs could not wait to try and pin this on the Tea Party because their own OWS are such degenerates and murderers. The only ones saying "does it matter" are those that care nothing for the truth and even less for honest journalism. Can only imagine the liberal hatred and hypocristy that would be posted all over this board if Fox News had done this. That man should sue every "news" station (and I use the term liberally) that put his name out there....My God, he was 52 and the shooter was 24...the idiot reporters were so consumed with their bias, they couldn't even pick a fake target in the right age group.

It should not matter and should not be political. The dems/libs did not jump to accuse the TP or anyone else. A TV station reporter does not equate to party bias against the TP. Blame the TV station and complain to them if you have a problem instead of coming on here and creating a disturbance. These people are dead and injured not because of any political party but rather because of the the actions of a deranged person.
Don' t tell any poster what they can or cannot post - Liberal reporters on liberal stations

Boradcast lies for the sole purpose of trying to engage the Tea Party in that massacre. It was done for no other opurpose than to try and drag the Tea Partyers into the OWS sewer. I listened to the entire audio - maybe you should.
You're entitled to your own opinion, not your own facts. I don't give a rats A __ __ what you think of my post and I CERTAINLY DO NOT TAKE ORDERS FROM you.
"Blame the TV station and complain to them if you have a problem instead of coming on here and creating a disturbance. These people are dead and injured" and the liberal press went after an innocent member of the Tea Party and tried to pin it on him. He has now had to diosconnect his phone due to threats on his life. It is a sick liberal common tactic - You don't like it, follow your own advice and write your socialist party leaders to get their lies under control.

of the offense itself, but rather a matter of who is offended. I would almost give the moderator the benefit of the doubt and say that they were just trying to clear out the complaint box (which from this board I would assume is enormous) and just not paying attention and just getting it done. However, prior to the moderator editing I posted a reply that blatantly showed the hipocrasy of the complaint, which was completely ignored. Just sad.

I think politicians on both sides have been called nasty names. One side is no more tamer than the other. Remember John McCain and Palin? They were so brutalized by posters. Call the "C" and the "B" word. Then there is Bachman who a poster called her a "media whore". Obama is no worse than what republicans have been called.

use the "C" or "B" word when talking about Palin but have seen it used other forums. What is encountered beyond MTStars where moderation rules may be more relaxed is not the issue here. I would be interested to see the "media whore" post to determine whether that was a direct comment, if the poster was quoting someone else or if the phrase was embedded in an article.

A poster was offended by calling Obama Commie Obammie, so I removed that.
A poster was offended by calling Romney Ramen Noodles so I removed that.
I don't know what post you are referring to, please post more information.
It's not selective editing, it's editing ALL posts that I'm getting emails from posters telling me they are offended.
Here's a helpful hint to all posters. If you don't like the person you support being called a name, then don't call the opponent a name.
NOTE TO MODERATOR - JTBB
[ In Reply To ..]
Here's the point. I personally don't care that the names I referred to have not been edited. I simply pointed them out to prove a point. I DO care that if one person finds one post offensive and complains then it is automatically edited. I understand that there is some amount of control necessary; however, micro-managing comments because of "sensitivity issues" is not the answer. We have all been advised that this IS a political forum and that feelings WILL get hurt. I've seen several posts from you stating things like "if you don't like it don't read it," you need a thick skin," etc. The standards you set really need to apply to all on this board if this is to be a fair discussion.

I appreciate your post, and I hope it is met with understanding and the same sense of fair play with which it was written.
I agree that to cater to the tastes of one poster over another is micromanaging, and I do not favor it. It breeds an atmosphere of "tit for tat" (as can be seen by posts that try to attract the moderator's attention, and almost always result in the respondent being arbitrarily edited or censured).
Point well taken. Message to ctmt too - Moderator

Understand your point. It's not easy to make everyone happy. Everyone is writing to me telling them things offend them.
How about this as a compromise. Let posters write whatever they want to write about politicians. If someone wants to call someone Ramen Noodles or Commie Obammie I will not edit it out.
I really really really hate editing posts, but was trying to keep everyone happy. So lets let everyone express their opinions about politics. If posters attack another poster or use a cuss word I will edit that, but otherwise everyone can express how they feel without me having to edit.
a word, please, about selective editing... - ctmt
[ In Reply To ..]
I would kindly ask you to think about what you said: "It's not selective editing, it's editing ALL posts that I'm getting emails from...." This approach defines selective editing.
Before you disagree, please have a look at your remarks:
1) "Comrades mean 'friend' or 'ally', so not sure what is offensive about that", and 2) "a poster was offended by calling Romney Ramen Noodles so I removed that."
One would have to wonder why you did not simply explain that Ramen Noodles is a kind of Chinese food.
I have been edited and/or scolded for using the word "McCarthyism" in response to "communism" and "KKK" in response to "Imperial Wizard". If it weren't so absurd, it would be just plain disingenuous.

They truthfully reported there is a James Holmes in Aurora registered in the tea party and in the same sentence issued that disclaimer. Will wingers EVER stop taking stuff out of context and blowing it up into phoney rage based on false premise? They got their apology, even though one was not warranted.
Did he say there are over 20 - James Holmes in Aurora?

Why specifically pick the one from the Tea Party, the one who is in his 50s and the shooter is 24? Politicizing, that's why, and looking to denigrate the Tea Party at every turn.
No, he did not state that convenient fact - he eventually admitted to
[ In Reply To ..]
Goggling James Holmes + Tea Party to come up with the innocent man's name, age, telephone, address. The libs were trolling for blood, just like the few on this board. They repeatedly stated the connection between the Tea Party and Holmes and very, very reluctantly and not very often said it "may" not be him AFTER stating that info repeatedly that it MAY be the killer, and he was on Facebook regarding the Tea Party.
So what? This report in question was aired - early this morning
[ In Reply To ..]
More than likely he didn't even have that information. It's a moot point anyway since he did not try to assert that the TP James Holmes is one in the same as the suspect. There is no there there, but if it somehow makes you feel better to insist that there is, knock yourself out.
"knock yourself out" (direct lib quote) - If the libs did, they would help us all

The point is NO INFORMATION SHOULD HAVE BEEN OUT THERE THAT WAS NOT FACTUAL. PERIOD. END.OF.STORY. Video is available for the doubting Thomases who would like to make this into something it's not. In the same breath he made it clear they could not say if the suspect was the same known TP guy who lives in Aurora. That simply does not rise to the level of ""blaming the tea party." As usual, this is just the plain old garden variety winger over-reach we have all come to except. Besides, IMO the whole line of thinking is fairly ridiculous.
There is nothing politically symbolic or significant about a Batman movie premier. When I heard this news and as I watched the coverage unfold, possible political motivations never even occurred to me. As the parent of an avid adult Batman fan, all I could think of is what a horrible tragedy it is for the parents and what a frightening and traumatic event this must be for those who survived the massacre.
That's not to say there aren't political elements to the event. I am sure there will be a brief and nonconsequential revival of the dialog on the assault weapons ban, but this somber day is not the day for that discussion. In fact, I personally have no interest in watching the ongoing MSM, cable or partisan media feeding frenzy, or reporters falling all over themselves trying to outdo each other, especially since it is so early in the investigation and they have nothing new to report except repeating the same bare bones facts over and over again. It's the kind of event that makes me want to drop everything I am doing to go visit my son, give him a hug, tell him how much I love him, and to join in prayer for those families and friends whose lives have been changed forever by this senseless act.

Any person's name without the complete total facts. Why should any innocent person ever be put in danger because some screwball liberal anchor wants to beef up his sagging, pitiful ratings by using his hatred of the tea party to do it? You would think after all the lies that had to be walked back by the liberal media regarding Zimmerman, not to mention the innocent elderly couple's lives that were put in danger, they would have a light bulb go off and realize they need to do things better and different, based on truth, not their spin. Unfortunately, you see the same thing being employed all over this board; ignore any facts that put Obama in a bad light, but embrace and elevate any rumor, sans fact, that liberals think will destroy anyone with an opposing view.
