Love Jon Stewart.   His take on voter fraud.

LOL. As Jon correctly points out, this includes voting for Mickey Mouse and the like. This, of course, makes it a top priority for republicans.

By all means, lets get those states busy fixing this nonexistent problem. It's not like they have anything better to do like, oh, maybe addressing domestic terrorism and hate crimes.

Voter fraud - is serious business.

Remember the WA state governor's race two elections ago? The Rep. candidate won the original count and two subsequent recounts. The Dem. candidate paid for a third recount, and well-well-well, what do you know, some "overlooked" ballots in her favor "appeared," just enough to edge her ahead.

What you're talking about is ballot counting...sm - JTBB

So how is requiring additional ID and cutting back on early voting supposed to help that?
Requiring voter ID - is not voter fraud. (sm)

It would actually be a wise thing to require. Fraud would be showing the WRONG ID in order to vote.
Right...sm - JTBB

Nobody said requiring ID is voter fraud. However, what these states are doing is voter suppression. I don't have a problem with requiring ID so long as people are informed, and they are provided free IDs as well as transportation. However, because of the way these laws were brought about, most people don't even know about the changes, but I guess they'll find out the hard way when they go to vote. It has also be proven time and time again that the recent laws enacted directly and consistently impact democratic voters. Tell me, why would you cut down on the time allowed for early voting in a state like Ohio where they have consistently had issues with 10+ hour waiting lines at the polls?

But the main issue I really have is that they are trying to fix something that isn't broken. The only reason they (republicans) would do this is if would benefit them. Every one of these states that have had their laws changed regarding this issue have been republican controlled.

excellent take! - nm

The police community should communicate to protest organizers in the future that they will gladly provide protective services to facilitate such activities in a safe and peaceful manner, but will be wearing the appropriate protective gear, and if the organ ...

Let's Clear Up The Minimum Wage NonsenseOct 27, 2014
By "clear up", I mean "to the extent possible".  I've spent two weeks "in the stacks", reviewing more than 2 dozen of the more recent economic analyses on the subject of the minimum wage, from sources that are considered reasonably objective.  For the most part, I focused on studies published by the NBER.  Of course, there's never any absolute assurance of objectivity, but peer review offers some reason to hope for it. They don't call economics "the dismal science" ...

It's Obvious To Me That People Who Buy Into Sanders' NonsenseJan 19, 2016
This could be a book, but we'll take just one of his pronouncements because it represents the core of his philosophy:  "Real freedom must include economic security." Really?  Is that the lesson you learned in World History and, more particularly, American History, assuming you didn't sleep through them?  I'm so glad that so many who built this country - indeed, so many who have contributed throughout history to the progress and betterment of mankind didn't eq ...
