I am truly amazed that Barney Frank

Posted: Nov 2, 2010

is ahead in the polls.  That is just amazing to me.  The man admitted to having paid Stephen L. Gobie, a male prostitute, for sex and subsequently hiring Gobie as his personal assistant. Gobie used the congressman's Washington apartment for prostitution.  Not to mention the fact that he was in bed with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and said that they were fine right before the you-know-what hit the fan.  He is also linked to the Maxine Waters scandal where she got 12 million dollars in TARP money for a bank that her husband is on the board for and Frank was involved and helped get that done.  HELLO!  Seriously people.  How in the heck can anyone seriously vote for such a corrupt person?

Wow - going back to 1989? - You really do not want to do that, do you? nm

of the fannie mae-freddie mac debacle that was the catalyst for the financial straits we find ourselves in now. That is much more important to me than a prostitution ring run out of his house. The fact that people can IGNORE that fact is beyond ridiculous. Not only that, his party rallied around him and he is STILL chair of that committee. Ms speaker of the house (hopefully will NOT be tomorrow) needs her moral compass adjusted (if she still has one that is)

One congressman with a - Republican controlled Congress and president-nm

Bush's administration the congress was controlled by the democrats. That is also when Fannie and Freddie collapsed. So where do you get your one congressman with a republican controlled congress and president comment?
Check your facts.... - sam

was a republican president but a DEMOCRAT controlled Congress when that happened. That is how he made that idiocy fly...he had the votes. Ahem.
When do you think the bubble started - to form?

The kettle was brewing way back in the Bush presidency/Republican Congress years. There you go, rewriting history again.

The years leading up to the crisis, significant amounts of foreign money flowed into the U.S. from fast-growing economies in Asia and oil-producing countries. This inflow of funds combined with low U.S. interest rates from 2002-2004 contributed to easy credit conditions, which fueled both housing and credit bubbles. Loans of various types (e.g., mortgage, credit card, and auto) were easy to obtain and consumers assumed an unprecedented debt load.
Yes, but who could have avoided putting a HUGE PIN in that bubble.... - sam

There YOU go, making excuses. No one forced him to push for those no credit check and give the houses to people who HE KNEW could never pay for them. He SAID as much. Fannie and Freddie will never fail, and even if they did, the government will not bail them out. GOOD GRIEF, open your eyes!!! It is on You Tube...he was warned, and he knew it was not just a possibility, but a probability, and he pushed it through anyway. You can try to blame it on oil or Bush or the tooth fairy if you want to, but Barney Frank PUSHED the button that burst the bubble and he DID NOT HAVE TO, and the Dem Congress backed him up, and they DID NOT HAVE TO. THAT is the truth, and no matter who much more condescending crap you post is NOT going to change that fact. PERIOD. THat one is at the Dems feet, particularly Barney Frank's. You can live in denial if you want. The rest of us are not so invested in a PARTY or that sorry excuse for a representative that we are willing to excuse the horrible chain of events THAT MAN caused by being hard-headed and not listening when he was warned. The fact that you ARE...well, 'nuff said. lol.

Because he takes a lot of our money home to his district - Backwards Typist

Bribery will get you everywhere these days. The more money a politician takes home, the more the people vote for them.

Look at the late John Murtha. Although he was a crook and just about everyone in his district knew it, he was elected over and over again. Why? "He did good by us" was a statement made over and over by those who voted for him.

It is purely disgusting. He is basically a criminal and - the Fannie/Freddie connection ...ugghh.

People who voted for him are apparently just a corrupt. You deserve this nightmare.
