The concept Volt rolled out - in Jan 2007.

[ In Reply To ..]it interesting that the issue has been politicized by the right and the "green" Volt called the Obamobile when it was developed during the Bush administration. Even a prominent FOX contributor is dismayed at the spin.

Spiekerman dealt quite the knock-out blow to the Volt haters cult and its leaders, who were for it before they were against it the moment they perceived the dangers of Obama being credited for its success and that of its manufacturer. Predictably, their willingness to go against the science is par for the course. IMO, the fact Fox promoted such a vehement campaign against it is a strong indicator the recognition it has attained thus far is well founded. The promise it and others like it hold for the future of drastically decreasing dependence on foreign oil must be an intolerable thorn in the sides of the drill baby drill bunch.
Hopefully the white flag Fox hoisted will remain permanently planted. None of their commentators strike me as very adept at the art of arguing with themselves and I seriously doubt we will see a retraction by or rebuke of Spiekerman's fascinating analysis.
