Bachmann: God will âcurseâ America if it opposes Israel

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010 -- 3:17 pm

Michele Bachmann, the outspoken conservative House representative from Minnesota, says the United States will cease to exist if it "fails to stand" with Israel.

"I am convinced in my heart and in my mind that if the United States fails to stand with Israel, that is the end of the United States," Bachmann said at a meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition in Los Angeles on Feb. 6.

Bachmann went on to explain that God's special relationship with Israel means the US would be cursed if it were to oppose Israeli policies.

"We have to show that we are inextricably entwined, that as a nation we have been blessed because of our relationship with Israel, and if we reject Israel, then there is a curse that comes into play," Bachmann said.

The congresswoman's comments went under the radar until Andy Birkey reported on them at the Minnesota Independent.

That particular source is known for being radically Left-wing, and frankly, the majority of such sources have NO credibility whatsoever.

Odd how the Left feels so threatened by those like Bachmann, who are simply following the Constitution and standing up for individual rights. It begs the questions: Just how far gone is the Left, and what is it that they feel so threatened by? Bachmann and others like her are for freedom, and those who embrace everything Leftist don't seem to make the connection that those Leftist politicians they so worship are out to destroy their freedom, little by little. Wake up people!!

I stand by the source. Here's another one: - Nikki

Just Google Michele Bachmann Republican Jewish Coalition, and you'll find lots of other sources, as well.

I don't think you quite understand what I'm saying.

My point is that there is no shortage of sources who will embrace all things Leftist and attempt to cast a dark shadow on those who are conservative. I believe there are numerous sources which are quietly promoting a socialist agenda for our country, trading off our freedom. I won't go so far as to name names, but if you start to pay attention, you'll begin to connect the dots. I can't tell you how many times I've heard/seen articles or stories taken out of context in an attempt to discredit conservatives. It's become obvious that there is a movement here on line and on radio talk shows to promote the Leftist agenda of Democratic politicians, and at the same time, attack any conservative politicians.
I don't know much about the source you list so I can't specifically comment except to say it is known for being farrrrrr Left, so frankly, that shows a little too clearly where they stand.

Please think about something. If you genuinely are for individual freedom, you would be standing behind people like M. Bachmann and other conservatives. Those who embrace Leftist ideology don't seem to understand that the politicians they try to promote are NOT interested in their freedom. They'll tell you everything you want to hear, but they are clearly NOT for your rights/freedom. The conservative politicians ARE for your freedom, which is why there's such a desperate attempt to demonize/silence/vote them out of office. It's sad that some people fall for this game, because it ends up with them being the losers (of rights/freedom) in the end.

Again, I hope people wake up soon!
only freedom from conservatives - Pocious

when it comes to Israel. I can't even believe the Jewish Coalition would allow that loon to address them. And the conservatives want freedom for us? What a bunch of BS. You want to talk about casting "dark shadows"? The neocons are masters at it. Their constant attacks on the President with bloated truths and out-and-out lies and promoting treason and encouraging home-grown terrorism is beyond horrendous. It reeks of Hitler's brainwashing techniques of the masses to convince them that Jews were the enemy. I see no difference here in the way these neocons are acting!
There is a big difference because you have twisted - everything to YOUR liking.

What a bunch of baloney. The RADICAL is our current president. Go talk to his friends. It takes one to know one.
Have you always been spoonfed? - luvzminis

Your using the derogatory term "neocons" tells us you subscribe to the ultra left "news" sources which are anything but profreedom.
"Attacks" on the president? You might want to review the incredible heap of damage this man has done since January of last year. I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but I honestly can't think of a single positive thing this troubled man has done; on the contrary he seems determined to undermine our nation with just about anything that will fail and not help us. As for "lies" you might want to watch his speeches and begin to count the lies. After about 2 minutes, there will be so many you'll lose count.,
Have to laugh at your "Hitler's brainwashing" since what your're saying is EXACTLY what Obama is pulling. When will you people wake up and see reality? Will you wait until your freedoms have dwindled before you realize you've been duped by Obama, Pelosi and company? There must be 5 people left in this country who haven't caught on. Time to get a clue friend--before our country falls flat.

I didn't read the entire article, but I agree that the US is blessed because of our relationship with Israel. Far better to stand with them than against them. I believe the Bible bears that out.

One's beliefs, religious or otherwise, cannot help but influence how any person reacts or has an opinion in any situation. It amazes me how some people can fully support an atheist's right to an opinion, but not a Christian's.

In this case, she was voicing her opinion. An opinion, by definition, cannot be wrong, it's simply how one feels about something.
well if you truly believe your statement - pc

you simply must support the bombers who want to get to the virgins in paradise. Coz one cannot "help" being influenced by their religion and their opinion must be supported as a right.

That makes no sense at all - Old part-timer
[ In Reply To ..]
Support of someone's right to an opinion does not supercede the law.

I was speaking of the US support of any nation - what is it based on? Should it be what it can benefit us? During World War 2 should we have supported the Nazi cause if they offered us something in return? Why didn't we side with them? Did morality have any influence?

I believe it did. I believe we sided with the Allies because, even though the Nazis thought they were right to want to take over the world, we saw what they were doing to other nations and their people and took a stand.

nice try - pc
[ In Reply To ..]
You claimed a person's religious beliefs influenced their thoughts and actions. You stated people do not support christians' rights to opinions. Therefore, if you believe religious beliefs should be respected, you MUST believe the terrorists' beliefs should be respected. either that, or you are a religious hypocrite. But bringing the nazis into the conversation, how Glenn Beck of you.
Funny analogy - Old part-timer
[ In Reply To ..]
Really funny, since I have to admit I don't know who Glenn Beck is.

I'm saying if someone's religion says it's desirable to sacrifice children, that flies in the face of the law and cannot be tolerated.

But you're trying to muddy the waters regarding opinions. Opinions, at least in the US, are still allowed. And hey, I have my opinion and you have yours. I respect your right to your opinion and I ask you to do the same for me.
