What does nonspecific gliosis mean?

Posted: Apr 23, 2012

I have had a migraine headache for 4 weeks straight with NO RELIEF... My MRI indicates nothing serious, thank goodness.  but the report does show the following:

non specific gliosis present ?

A few foci of bilateral subcortical and deep white matter T2 hyperintensity?

Can anyone tell me what this means?   I am in the process of locating a 2nd neurologist, as I was unhappy with my first one.

Thank you!

I had the same thing on my MRI with no direct answer from 2 neuros and also the white matter changes. They told me this was "normal". I do not think it is normal at all as these can be changes of burned out MS but it is definitely damage to our CNS. Email me if you like and good luck. I have seen about 4 neuros.
